Good for him pulling this off so quickly after the recent events in Minneapolis..That being said, the lyrics to the song are pretty lame. He should have had a ghost writer, or used ChatGPT.

Kudos to Bruce. Well done.thumbs up

(The melody reminds me nicely of "Desolution Row").

Considering the song references events that happened a few days before it was recorded with a full band, saying it is not his best work is utterly missing the point. Saying it is like it was "written by a middle schooler" is just way off.

Bruce wrote a very pointed protest song and performed it and recorded it with the full band backing him is a ridiculously short time. It is not something I could do, and it is not something most artists could pull off. Kudos to Bruce Springsteen for writing and recording a relevant, meaningful, rocking song with depth and poignancy at age 76, 54 years into his recording career. The Boss simply continues to kick ass when most artists his age are long done.

100% agreed. Then goes to Minneapolis and plays it. Kudos.

This thread is hijacked for political talks and hints. I do not have time to delete 10-20 posts hinting at political situations.

The thread is closed for a while. If there are non-political matters to post about Bruce, then feel free to tell me by e-mail, may be I will reopen this thread.

Just to explain why politics are NOT allowed on IORR:

If one side is given space on IORR, then the other side will have to get equal space. Soon after there will be fighting, and there is no time to moderate all the hate and fighting that will spin off political fights. Please choose other places to do the political talks, not here on IORR. Thank you.

News coming Tuesday

U.S. tour? Possibly new music associated with it? Whatever it is, it’s E Street related. Bruce had said he will play “more often, less dates” so maybe taking on more of a Stones/McCartney touring model going forward

Couldn't agree more, Tate. Great stuff, well done Bruce, thanks and hats off! When my son recently played this song to me, at the first instance I was thinking he was playing some 1970s track to me. Bruce has still got it so much.

His overly leftie politics has always kept me from caring about his music.

Lucky states - it’s our first summer since 2022 without the ESB in Europe this year - fingers crossed for 2027

2027 European shows probable in my opinion

Makes sense with what he’s said about touring going forward. I think Australia & NZ are off the table unfortunately

He seems to be turning into a bit of a grumpy old man. Seen him twice in the 80's, great shows.

You don’t seem to have a dream about or faith in the Stones playing live anymore, though.
