Just a quibble here, but

$49.50 rounds to $50 (not $49)
$69.50 rounds to $70 (not $69)
$299.50 rounds to $300 (not $299)

My 2019 Rolling Stones Pit $499.50 price before the $124 fees rounded to $500. Not to $499.

Here, try it:
The IRS says the same thing.

We do TicketMonarchs, Rolling Stones Inc, Springsteen Inc, Macca Inc a cumulatively very big favor when we relate that prices are $49, $69, $299. And not state fees, of course. It's easy on TicketMonarchs to include fees, btw. Just turn on that damn filter. I don't understand why anybody shops without the "With Fees" filter on.

Anyway, the corporate money men all know what dollar 50 cents rounds to. They're counting on us to not. And nearly all of us bite!

I'm sure their black hearts pitty-pat with glee when they see on music fan forums concert ticket seekers passing around these $49s, $69s, and $299s. Their pricing psychology tactic is working, and collectively it means they're successfully working us. Earning their big bucks.

I've seen it thousands of times, held my tongue as many times. Minus one, now.

Wonder what that new actual price would be. With fees.

It's been one thing after another starting with the backlash from angry/disillusioned fans due to the overpriced ticket scam.
Like a dark ominous cloud...not knowing what bad turn of events will happen next. Under a bad sign indeed.

TheBoss

"Multiple members of the band have missed shows in the current tour due to COVID, including Steven Van Zandt, Nils Lofgren, Jake Clemons and Soozie Tyrell.
The E Street variant of COVID that's been running through the band has so far not resulted in any long-term issues".

Considering all the other band members were "replaceable" and those shows went on as scheduled without them, seems likely it's Bruce himself who has fallen ill this time. I hope he (or whoever it is) gets better.

Is Max replaceable? Roy? Garry?

Re: OT: Bruce Springsteen stuff

Even if it's Bruce, he's not frail and covid circa 2023 is much weaker than the 2020-2021 versions were. Most of the world has now had these later mutations, many people more than once, and nearly everybody bounces back fast now. Look at Mick last year.

If Springsteen's got it, join the club, and figure on this show postponed and one more at most.

Although it wouldn't be optimal I think all of those guys could be replaced short term. With the huge band of talented musicians, I'm sure some of them could double up. The percussion guy could fill in for Max, keyboards are already doubled & I'm pretty sure Little Steven or Nils could fill in on bass if necessary.

Not sure about any of the above, tbh.

Jay Weinberg has filled in for Max before, but he's touring with Slipknot.

If in the heat of performances I'd slid across as many stages on my knees and jumped down ill-advisedly off as many speaker cabinets as he has, at his age I'm sure I'd be at least a little bit creaky too.

Elton is a lot hobbled. By his fifties Prince had nearly crippled himself for his audiences with flamboyant stage moves - though in his case the platform shoes, i.e., his vanity, played a big part in it. Iggy these days contorts around onstage like a thinner Quasimodo. Great rock & roll is a contact sport, is my point; they're sustaining the damage to entertain us, and everybody doesn't get to be a Mick Jagger in old age. By some measures Springsteen is even spry for 73. His mobility is good enough that I'm certainly not going to carp about it.

Wow not good...

Has there been any official word that the recent illness is in fact Covid? I know the recent article from the Astbury Park Press posted above mentioned the "E Street variant of COVID", but that was in reference
to the other members who became ill with covid and then bounced back rather quickly. Now they're at three shows (and counting?) that have been postponed, so could this be the result of something more serious?
And as far as I know, no official word yet on who is actually ill, though I would guess that it's the Boss himself given the secrecy surrounding it all. But I hesitate to speculate any further, and hope the tour continues relatively unscathed without any more major streaks of bad luck...

right. But as we all know a couple of people with whom he had close contact had Covid infections

beside that Springsteen is the only one who can't be replaced without even the most casual fans notice that someone is missing

The easy bet, of course, is that it's Bruce, and that he's down with COVID. But we simply don't know at this stage. Maybe it will all be revealed later.

it's really strange: when other band members got Covid the public got informed more or less immediately. And now they are cancelling shows du to 'illness'… (and don't even confirm who's ill)

Just saw a very brief 20 second blurb about the third postponed shows on ABC's World News Tonight with David Muir, but "no further details given".

Somewhat different circumstances. When other band members were down with COVID there were no postponements; the shows went on as planned. Therefore, there was nothing to really announce.

I think Steve Van Zandt tweeted about his own COVID result on his own. And I believe Nils Lofgren's wife tweeted about Nils.

Bruce mentioned Soozie's COVID infection on stage in Dallas. [www.rollingstone.com]

Now, as far as Jake Clemons, Bruce joked Jake was "back at the hotel eating barbecue and watching pornographic movies on the TV" during the KC show. Joking aside, he mentioned Jake's COVID infection as well.

Obviously in these cases there was consent from the individuals to disclose private health-related information.

A quote from Backstreets:

Quote

I know for a fact that they are testing and need to pass in order to resume touring, per a conversation in KC with a tour insider person re Jake. Until “the line” in the Covid test disappeared for Jake, he was not allowed to return. As a matter of fact, he was still in Austin when they played the KC show. There were crew members still in Dallas for the same reason.
