Darlington County could be a Stones song it has a Honky-Tonk Women - Tumbling Dice feel to it. The song is from BIT USA album. It is the B &ESB best selling album . It's not my favorite but "Bobby Jean" cannot be denied.

Bruce often starts Darlington Country with the Honky Tonk Women riff at shows.

The most underrated albums is "Magic."
Magic is a great album. I really enjoyed Wrecking Ball too. High Hopes had some great moments, but it was basically a disjointed collection of unreleased material. Worth releasing to be sure, but not a cohesive album.

Pretty much in agreement with what you said here but what about "The Rising"? Are you a fan of that album?

The Rising imo is Springsteen´s "best bad album". Although very well received worldwide it is no way as good as his work in the 70s/80s was. Personally I don´t like the production of the album, a few songs are very good but the album is packed with fillers. Maybe a shorter version would have done it for me, nevertheless The Rising is better than anything that came after it.

Magic isn´t a great album - by no man´s standards. It´s lower than low and has only two acceptable songs as far as I remember. And it sounds a-w-f-u-l bad, torture to my ears.

rising and magic are good. the rest you can make 1 good album from all of them

The Rising is a great album, its just too long. But if you made it 50 minutes, its a phenomenal record. The Magic is a fantastic record. IMO stands with his absolute best. Horribly overlooked. Its a near perfect record.

Far out, did not know Bruce did ‘Tenth Avenue Freeze Out’ on Broadway
no video, have to assume he is playing piano as well as singing live solo...
impressive.
[m.youtube.com]
(song doesn’t start until 2:50 minutes long intro........omg)

I am not used to watching Bruce S. rock shows.
Does anyone find it
uncomfortable
that he prowls the stage sweaty trying to pull attention
with his WIFE standing next to him to whole time?
No?
Just me?
LOL

I mean, he preens, lays down, sweats in his tight clothes, all eyes on Bruce
and then his wife is right there on guitar, I dunno, kinda weird to me, sorry, I guess she is a great guitarist? Back up singer. I don’t mean shade, more laughs at me really, I’m too impatient for Springsteen’s act.

The Broadway show was amazing. I went in November 2017 - got into town without a ticket, and with the help of complete strangers got a ticket to 2nd row, corner of stage, right where Bruce's piano was.

I'm not a huge fan of Brendan O'Brien's production on his '00s albums...it's too bright and trebly. There's almost no low end and the snare is very tinny.

I know that's always kinda been the E-Street Band's sound, but it's pushed too far by O'Brien.

I know, I am sure I would catch Bruuuuuce fever if I ever saw him live, he’s a charismatic one, plus anyone who sings solo w/ piano
(like Prince last shows off Broadway)
2nd row Topi, pretty, pretty good.
I just have a little tease at Bruce LOL

Rising and Magic are good records. Of Bruce's later works, I also like Wrecking Ball because he takes musical risks and explores different colors/genres whether it is Irish-folk influences (Death to My Hometown), gospel (My City of Ruins), or even rap (Rocky Ground). (You may not like the end result) but I like the way Bruce keeps pushing himself.

Those records have a couple of decent songs but they mostly suck. I cringed every time he would play "Outlaw Pete" or "Waiting On A Sunny Day" live.

Born in the USA Live in London

This is a DVD that came exclusivly with the Deluxe-Edition of his album High Hopes. Compared to the original Born In The USA-album the music on this DVD sucks tremendously, he´s mostly rather shouting, yelling and screaming than singing. Sadly there is no glory in those performances. Some songs are stretched and become boring, overall I was highly disappointed.

Those opening riffs that Bruce plays on IM Going Down and the vibe of the performance is what gives me a thrill as a fan of his music. Not all performances are perfect be the singing or playing of the instruments in the end its just rock and roll and how it makes you feel.

Spot on! Just watched a few songs from the London 2013 show...quite excellent.

Bruce's latest off of Western Stars - the video shows him playing at home? with a band

Tuscon Train Lyrics

Got so down and out in 'Frisco
Tired of the pills and the rain
I picked up, headed for the sunshine

I left a good thing behind
Seemed all of our love was in vain
My baby's coming in on the Tucson train

I come here looking for a new life
One I wouldn't have to explain
To that voice that keeps me awake at night
When a little peace would make everything right

If I could just turn off my brain
Now my baby's coming in on the Tucson train
We fought hard over nothing
We fought till nothing remained

I've carried that nothing for a long time
Now I carry my operator's license
And spend my days just running this crane
My baby's coming in on the Tucson train

Hard work'll clear your mind and body
The hard sun will burn out the pain

If they're looking for me, tell 'em buddy
I'm waiting down at the station
Just praying to the five-fifteen

I'll wait all God's creation
Just to show her a man can change

Now my baby's coming in on the Tucson train
On the Tucson train
On the Tucson train
Waiting on the five-fifteen
Here she comes

Pretty strong performances; i tend to write him off from time to time for various reasons
but his talent and commitment and presence is awesome and the focus and respect of those main guys he's been with forever
is pretty spectacular to see .
I hadn't seen him with that trio of female singers:
I'm guessing Patti Scialfa was with their kids or something that leg or tour;
it's the first footage I'd seen of any of that tour and I'm grateful to the poster who shared it. thank you.

he does put it all out there and him whole self into it;
for whatever personal or professional reasons of respect for himself,
the band, his material or even the rock and roll foot soldier ethos of the
"no surrender' crowd grown up and old...love it. Good for him.
He's done a spectacular thing with his long career; I was totally with him
since Born to Run thru Born in The USa and that's a LOT of really, really fine albums; and i like some after as well; some of the solo stuff.
this brings me back into his fold somewhat.
i'll give that new recording of his; and some of the more recent ones; more of a chance; or myself, rather, more of a chance to be exposed to his more latter day work.

I finally got around to starting Springsteen on Broadway last night...what an incredibly moving and funny performance.

I can't imagine how draining it must have been to summon the emotion to perform that complete show night after night. Just a towering achievement.

That is interesting ^ hopefully you could live in seclusion in a close by peaceful place stocked with books/ no talking to anyone else all day- exercise, eat, rest, show. And no talking.
