The reads on depression are very much a talking point on Bruce forums. Especially given how he embraced and talked at length about that topic when his book came out and everything surrounding that. Would make perfect sense that he feels comfortable tackling it musically now. But also, if you know that you could just be projecting that impression on the song. Personally I don't know. I don't really listen or analyze lyrics.

Well to be truthful it is not very hard to figure out and not close to be categorized as an analysis. Sorta like Reed's Bottoming Out - (Break-up, alcohol , motorcycle, hitting squirrels, and eventually aiming for the pothole.)

In the case of the latter the outcome is definitive. On the other hand, Hello Sunshine the future is unknown and the dude is looking for other avenues.

Not an Analysis or Rocket Science but I think it is interesting because like he said these are character stories even if they are self-reflective.

Stones need to do Witchita Lineman.
of course if Mick sang gentle on my mind,
it would be Number 1 no doubt.
i could rewrite some verses for them and they could steal it maybe...

hell yes to all that.

in fact your post itself could be a gomm verse.

also: liking the Bruce song.

ty; i def won't make any questionable comments about this serious task.
I will not even think of Bitchata Lineman, I promise; it didn't even cross my collective minds. it would be crass, disrespectful, inglorious so I won't even mention it, when I start this important task.

Will this task be kept under the wraps? Possibly could lead to a screenplay. Keep Siri and Alexa out of it for nondisclosure.

Little Stenen's "Superfly Terraplane" A Terraplane was a car made by Hudson Motors between 1932 and 1938. Also it was a song (Terraplane Blues by Robert Johnson)

Lyric "Shove it up your ass" is in this anti-establishment song - haven't seen the lyrics - but sure sounds like it from what verses heard

This is an okay song that sounds like most everything he has released in his last few albums. I can't believe people think this is a big deal or something.

I agreed that his preaching and virtue signaling got old long ago and hopefully he stays away from it this time. I was a huge fan of his 80's stuff and think he has been hit and miss ever since. Some decent stuff but nothing to get excited about.

I never made a big deal out of it - please keep in mind that maybe he doesn't have the voice to make his songs great- but he has certainly helped other musicians great.

Also his Underground Garage radio station on Sirius X is great just in the past two days the Stones songs played were the following:

"Don't Lie to me" (Chu0k Berry Cover) great song would make a great opener.

"Dandelion"

"Midnight Rambler" from Let it Bleed.

Remember , no offense this forum is about news, info, and sharing. It is not about judgement.

Furthermore I saw him on the R & R Hall of Fame show (TV) with Ian Hunter, Page, etc.. singing All the Young dudes.

It was great At this age we need more folks like Little Stevie.

In the day we sweat it out on the streets of a runaway American dream
At night we ride through the mansions of glory in suicide machines
Sprung from cages out on highway nine,
Chrome wheeled, fuel injected, and steppin' out over the line
H-Oh, Baby this town rips the bones from your back
It's a death trap, it's a suicide rap
We gotta get out while we're young
`Cause tramps like us, baby we were born to run

Yes, girl we were

Wendy let me in I wanna be your friend
I want to guard your dreams and visions
Just wrap your legs 'round these velvet rims
And strap your hands 'cross my engines
Together we could break this trap
We'll run till we drop, baby we'll never go back
H-Oh, Will you walk with me out on the wire
`Cause baby I'm just a scared and lonely rider
But I gotta know how it feels
I want to know if love is wild
Babe I want to know if love is real
Oh, can you show me

Beyond the Palace hemi-powered drones scream down the boulevard
Girls comb their hair in rear view mirrors
And the boys try to look so hard
The amusement park rises bold and stark
Kids are huddled on the beach in a mist
I wanna die with you Wendy on the street tonight
In an everlasting kiss

One, two, three, four

The highway's jammed with broken heroes on a last chance power drive
Everybody's out on the run tonight
But there's no place left to hide
Together Wendy we can live with the sadness
I'll love you with all the madness in my soul
H-Oh, Someday girl I don't know when
We're gonna get to that place
Where we really wanna go
And we'll walk in the sun
But till then tramps like us
Baby we were born to run
Oh honey, tramps like us
Baby we were born to run

Come on with me, tramps like us
Baby we were born to run

Interesting comments by Hopkins regarding Springsteen's stuff through the years and the Springsteen era/stuff he listens to most. I will disagree regarding the Seeger sessions stuff. The official Seeger album is a good listen, but its the bootlegs from that period that shine. The Seeger tour show I saw here in Arizona was and still is the best live Springsteen show I've ever seen and heard. It was performance art, in a way, with Bruce stretching out just like Neil Young with the Greendale thing. You either got it or you didn't.

Another work by Springsteen that's sadly overlooked, IMHO, is Tunnel of Love. This is a great collection of songs about relationships/dealings between men and women, life and love. I wish Springsteen played more from this album in his tours. One can only hear Badlands, Promised Land, Hungry Heart, Born To Run and some others so many times before you go, "I'm really tired of hearing the SOS over and over again." Of course, this holds true for many bands and performers, including the folks this web site is about.

Tunnel of Love is by far my favorite Springsteen album. I listened to it for about 10 years straight when it came out.

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, 2006

On April 30, 2006, Bruce Springsteen took the stage at the New Orleans Jazz Fest for the debut performance of his new group, Bruce Springsteen and the Sessions Band. The weight of Hurricane Katrina, which had happened only eight months earlier, could be felt everywhere in that great city, especially on the site of Jazz Fest. This is the live film of that legendary and premiere performance by Bruce Springsteen and the Sessions Band.

i took some artistic liberty with a different angle, lyrically;
it's sort of what deep fans do after awhile...they just 'roll' with it.
it's a contemporary angle i've been working
on since 1950's, as you can see, I'm pretty much a first call lyricist.
