just 14 shows on the brief 2017 australia/nz tour, no less then 92 different songs played

If memory serves, the Stones did a total of ~70 songs during the tour of 2014... not much different at all...

yes but the stones also played twice as many shows in 2014 to get to 70 songs as bruce just did to get to 92.

Bruce just announced a residency on Broadway:

[brucespringsteen.net]

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN: "SPRINGSTEEN ON BROADWAY" SOLO RUN AT NEW YORK’S WALTER KERR THEATRE SET FOR FALL 2017
Bruce Springsteen will make his Broadway debut this fall with “Springsteen on Broadway,” a solo show at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48th Street). Performances for "Springsteen on Broadway" begin Tuesday, October 3, with an official opening on Thursday, October 12. Springsteen will perform five shows a week through November 26th.

Tickets for “Springsteen on Broadway” will go on sale August 30 at 10am ET exclusively through Ticketmaster Verified Fan®. This unique fan-first technology levels the playing field to combat bots and get real tickets into the hands of fans who intend to go to the event.

Ticketmaster Verified Fan registration is open now and will close August 27. Verified fans will be notified August 29 for the August 30 onsale. Click HERE to pre-register and learn more.

“I wanted to do some shows that were as personal and as intimate as possible. I chose Broadway for this project because it has the beautiful old theaters which seemed like the right setting for what I have in mind. In fact, with one or two exceptions, the 960 seats of the Walter Kerr Theatre is probably the smallest venue I’ve played in the last 40 years. My show is just me, the guitar, the piano and the words and music. Some of the show is spoken, some of it is sung. It loosely follows the arc of my life and my work. All of it together is in pursuit of my constant goal to provide an entertaining evening and to communicate something of value,” says Springsteen.

“Bruce Springsteen is one of our greatest musical storytellers, and Broadway is built on a beloved tradition of musical storytelling. What a once-in-a lifetime thrill for all of us at Jujamcyn to welcome Bruce home to his rightful place in the Broadway legacy,” says Jordan Roth, President of Jujamcyn Theaters, which owns the Walter Kerr.

The creative team for “Springsteen on Broadway” includes Heather Wolensky (scenic design), Natasha Katz (lighting design) and Brian Ronan (sound design).

Agreed. How cool for the fans who want to and manage to get in. Here's hoping that ticket prices will be somewhere in the "affordable" range. 8 weeks of shows, 5 shows a week, ~1,000 tickets per show... That's only ~40,000 seats to be sold. Principles of supply and demand won't be working in the average consumer's favor for this one.

Peace,
Mr DJA

Haven't got a code (what a surprise) but the prices on Stub Hub are obscene. Not going to be many working class Joes there, that's for sure.

I really wanted to go but I only got the Standby status. I think that was actually a pretty cruel move by Ticketmaster. I would have preferred being told that I wasn't chosen at all and don't bother waiting around, rather than have some slim hopes of getting in.
While I've been staring at the Ticketmaster screen, unable to even attempt to search for tickets, I've been looking at messages on various forums.
It looks like a few people were successful, some were promised access codes that were never delivered even though another wave of codes was sent out, and tons of us were on Standby. Tickets immediately popped up on StubHub at outrageous prices.
So, business as usual for a high demand and low supply event.

I got Standby as well. Apparently the run has been extended through Feb. 3 and no more codes will be given out today.

"taking care of his own"... riiiggggghhttt... Hell, he is not even taking care of his

People are retarded when they throw around that shtick he does. That isn't his shtick. Maybe it used to be, but even thats a thin argument. He sung about those people. He never was from Nebraska. He could just write good songs about the place. Thats his job as a songwriter and his talent as an artist. So he can do what he wants. It may be wrong for certain reasons, but I never think its because "he's for the common man." Thats a stigma other people attached to him.

Having said that, the prices are crazy but its a small theater and a gigantic star. I'm not defending it, just saying this is what most would charge in that position. The Stones charge insane VIP prices that equal this and they play arenas, so be fair. This is basically if the Stones were playing a theater and JUST charging their VIP price, which makes sense given the size of venue. But I was hoping to not really get something cause then I don't have to consider spending an insane $1000 on one ticket. And now that they've added more weeks, I've grown less interested. Its a cool little thing to do, but the more you milk it the more the novelty wears off. And one of the key things that went with buying a ticket is I knew I could resell it for face to a fan cause its still exclusive. The longer you make it go, the more wary I am to buy something cause I might get stuck with it.

But thats just me. I wasn't gonna be picky at all if I pulled anything this onsale. But for the next one, now that its a 4 month affair, I wouldn't want to get stuck with an $850 ticket. I was positive I'd get rid of it for an 8 week thing, not so for an 18 week thing cause eventually you reach the ceiling.

I just saw that.
Verified Fan registration re-opened but if you already registered you don't have to do so again. Nothing is said about giving priority to people who never received their access code, got the code after the shows were sold out, or were on Standby. I guess we're all back in the same random pool along with new registrants. What's worse is people who already got tickets can register again and possibly buy more. If the intent is to spread tickets around to the greatest number of fans then the people who already got two tickets shouldn't be eligible again on the next round.
I'm a little encouraged, at least, by the large number of shows that were added.

I saw Ray Davies do something similar to what this apparently will be and I paid about sixty bucks.

Buying tickets as an "investment" is always a gamble. When the Allmans announced their "final" Beacon show, tickets sold out very quickly and were of course immediately put up for re-sale at inflated prices. Then Greg got sick, they postponed, and then shuffled the schedule and added another "final" show! I know a lot of people obviously love Bruce, but 2 hours of him playing acoustic and reminiscing may not be worth more than face.

I personally would like to be front and center and wear a "Make America Great Again" cap.smoking smiley

Was "selected" and thus promised a code, but no code.

Same phone number (from Finland) did work with the Hamilton Verified Fan presale last week.

Hearing TM had problems sending out codes even to Americans so it was just not the international phone number issue.

Oh well. Will be in NYC anyway from Nov 13 to Nov 16, trying hard to get a ticket to either the Nov 14 or Nov 15 show.

And yes, yesterday's codes don't carry over. You need a new code for the extended run. (which obviously was planned all along)

The BOSS is the best .BOSS really cares about his fans and added shows so those who did not get a code the first go around (me ) could have another crack at it , how can you not love the BOSS ? Well my quality of life changed drastically because of a "life altering accident"yawning smiley(my Doctors words) I suffered at the tour stop in my neck of the woods last year for the River Tour and then I have a family member that wants to go to see The BOSS on the great white way ,so yesterday after not getting a code me thinks ok dodged a bullet money wise and having to revisit the scene of the crime all over again WRONG .Now I will see if I get a code because if I do (barf puke) I will be able to do some shopping and run a few errands and have a nice dinner and see the show (barf puke).I also should add that it is no small coincidence that on my most recent visit with my Doctor (8/21/17) that he said I might be needing more surgery (which would be # 4) and I would have to seek out a specialist probably in NYC who has at least done at least a 100 of these replacement precedures ,probably a combination of titanium and plastic and the worst part is it will not be factory new as far as how it works because of all the damage around the affected area . That's quality of life and it was to me a message from above in the heavens that this trivial pursuit of attending and frequenting these types of performances is something that is not for me because of the "life altering accident" Kind of puts the No filter tour in perspective for me because it's a direct message that this is not for me .The funny thing is that last year when I got smashed up I had plans to go to Mexico City and Havana for the 2016 Ole tour , I got the passport and I was green lighted from my Doctor but my friend pulled the plug and said no way after the Doctor said he would not stand in my way .My gut tells me my friend did not want to have to deal with any issues with me and any health issue probably rightfully so but it still stings to this minute because you fall down in nature and the herd keeps trucking and you are left to die or fend for your self .Which is where I am at because after my third surgery on 1/18/17 my friend said I should only attend local shows in a dinky little joint that is a couple blocks from where I live and that no more shows in the big Apple to which I blew my top sky high instead of letting it go which to this day I deeply REGERET .I had someone that I have to coordinate with on work matters tell me to shutup and not to show my cards to anyone ,to which that is my new motto and my friend who I do miss deeply because we have been close since we were kids is a major loss to me ,not to have to talk with hang out with and stuff like that .Sorry for the rant BV.

I love what he is doing. Way cool and could only imagine if the Stones did something like that.

However...looking at the schedule... Day after day after day after day.

Cant see him doing the high energy show for 3 hours per night....night after night like that.

He will get tired. His voice will get tired

Asking for problems.

He really needs to space them out if he wants to bring his a game over and over.

It will be acoustic guitar and piano, and a lot of talking.

It will certainly still be taxing on his vocal cords at his age, but he's not going to be doing his usual stadium rock act.
