Although it's difficult to believe that the people who voted for the party that enacted this horrid law are ALSO fans of the Boss, it's not unheard of.Quote

I can understand moving the filming of a show to another state for said reason, but cancelling a concert hurts the fans more than anything else.
It raises awareness though. Will be big news. Unfortunate for fans but they are voters. Maybe will spark some movement & get some cavemen out of office. The evidence would say probably not though. I'm not going to get into politics but the frontrunners of 1 party would indicate that stupidity is certainly not endemic to North Carolina...

So proud of Bruce for this.

“Why is Bruce Springsteen big, though? He talks the dumb way. Like Sylvester Stallone. Is that why these people are big? Because they talk that way and people identify?” — THE ANDY WARHOL DIARIES, 23 Aug, 1978 entry, after a Madison Sq. Garden concert.

"We just felt the issue was just too important. This really vile and evil discrimination is starting to spread state to state and we thought, 'We better take a stand right now and catch it early'. It's unfortunately the only way people understand. You have to hurt them economically in order to have them do the right thing morally."

There is no amount of money on the planet that would help fight this law. North Carolina is a right-wing hellhole from top to bottom. The courts are packed with Republicans, so "fighting" the law is a completely lost cause.Quote

The LGBT community need money to fight this law and Springsteen could have given them a nice donation while making a statement! Instead he's taking a day off.
So standing up for basic human rights is bullying, but disenfranchising and humiliating powerless trans people isn't?Quote

So Bruce and Stevie are politicians now? I am on North Carolina's side here and against all the bullying by Hollywood and Silicon Valley luminaries. Beyond bullying as in Paypal will not put a new division there (NC) due to a simple straight forward bathroom law barring trans people from playing silly games in public bathrooms.
That's a worthless gesture. Shit like that doesn't work in America.Quote

and perhaps later a cool thing would be for Springsteen to hold a free protest concert..

Typical nuanced and thought-out response from a Trump supporter. Get back to your Klan rally, Gomer.Quote

It is far more than simple bathroom laws! It is also allowing business to discriminate based on religious belief. And your fear mongering narrow argument of fooling around in bathrooms shows more your lack of understanding of the true issue, and the reality that sexuality is a very complex and dynamic issue.
