Thanks for the info. I'll be looking forward to Phoenix if I can score tix. She who must be obeyed is already excited. She has a thing for Mister Springsteen. Re The River, here's one of, if not the best live version of the song. Enjoy.

Hopefully this is just the first leg. No dates for Canada except Toronto and nothing in the Pacific Northwest.

Now we'll see how to really tour behind a reissue.

I'm working my way through the massive The River box, just an amazing piece of work! Can't wait to see him in Sunrise, Fla. in February!

Yes, definitely a great release, especially the Tempe concert. The River tour was one of the greatest tours ever, incredible energy and performances! Definitely at the top of their game!

He should have retired in the early 90s. He is done.
His voice is gone, he´s not singing anymore, all he does is screaming, screaming, screaming. They should have quit touring/recording after the Big Man has been gone. The last couple of albums were extremely disappointing. The songs were so bad and this irish producer ruins everything, imo. I dont know why people still like BS, he is a pale shadow of his former self in fact.

Year after year it´s getting more embarrassing.

Definitely a great piece of work; I am also working my way through the songs; of which there are many! The documentary was quite good also, it's the live performances which are killer! Arguably Bruce never quite brought to the records (great as they are) that incredible power you see in those live concerts from the 70s and 80s. A track like 'Cadillac Ranch' is a nice track on the album, but live - yes it's a generic rock'n'roller, but when they played it live it became something entirely different and joyous.

Nice. Should I emphasize that the Big Man didn't pass away in the early 90s or should I leave it without a comment? smiling smiley In my opinion Bruce is one of the absolutely best live acts around. Just my opinion. Well, not just mine, I guess that some of the people that fill the stadiums would agree with me winking smiley

We could say that about the Rolling Stones too couldn't we?, but the show that I saw at Buffalo, NY this last July was arguably one of the better shows they delivered in many a year.

In the case of Bruce- I don't know what your smoking- but the guy has actually grown and challenged himself, taking risks, releasing albums with different musical tones and directions- which is more than I can say about our stagnant Stones (who-regarless will always be first in my book), but I have to call it the way it is. Right up there with the Stones- Bruce is still one the best live performers-bar none.

I've always said the greatest thing about Bruce live is he challenges his audience. He rewards both long-time fans and newer ones.

Bruce also can vary setlists substantially, which illustrates the depth of his full catalogue and also giving fans different shows. I think he played 28 tracks a few years ago during a show I was at, and in the next city changed 13 or 14, half the set. Not many performers can or do do that.

His live shows are still compelling.

He can easily change setlists night after night, he has a band that knows all the songs... For him the challenge isnt that great, no matter which songs they play, he is just screaming the lyrics... Do you remember that horrible "Born In The USA Live" - he was just screaming and screaming and... screaming. He just slaughtered the album in front of the audience.

Wow, can I find it somewhere? I don't remember that one. I only have that version which was released on DVD, which is brilliant.

And to say that changing setlist is easy because he has a band that knows all the songs and he can just scream the lyrics...Hmmm, I would like to see a band that would know all the BS songs and all the covers they do by requests. The thing is that it is a band of real and great musicians who have music in their blood and after they agree on a key they can improvise pretty much anything. There are very few bands that can do that. I dare say that from the "big" bands that fill stadiums, the E-Street band is the only one.

I saw Bruce on 2 subsequent nights in 2012 (in 2 different countries actually), he played 29 songs the first night and 31 songs the second night. He played 41 DIFFERENT songs. Those 2 shows lasted exactly 7 hours together. But yea, you are probably right - anybody can do that.

Well, feel free to undermine him/them as much as you want, you probably need it for some reason and I am sure it won't hurt them much (or anybody else) winking smiley

Sales have been up and down over the past years but there's no denying that Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band still kick ass in concert. 3 - 4 hour shows being the norm with setlists that cover every portion of his career, not to mention their capabilities to take on any song the audience throws at them via poster requests pulled from the crowd make each show unique. I'll admit Bruce isn't your smooth voiced crooner but he does put a lot of emotion into his singing and is genuine in his approach. The River was in my opinion the high point of his output as a writer (although he continued to write great songs) and I look forward to seeing at least one of these shows.

No Seattle date. Again. Wonder if it's a hangover from the time he crossed picket lines at the venue to do a show here. Was kind of disengenuous with his working man image. I saw a few shows on the original "River" tour & a few on the "Darkness" tour. Listening to tapes of those days, its been kind of downhill since then. I have enjoyed the stuff with Tom Morello though. Kind of a little out of Bruce's comfort zone.

Bruce just confirmed he will play the entire River album, that's 20 tracks, at every show on the upcoming tour in sequence! Of course he will play other favorites as well.

Wow! I thought when he did it in MSG he told it would be the first and the last time he did it, because it's "damn too long". Prepare for 4+ hour shows >grinning smiley<

How many will play band next time - more than 20?

2007 - 11 members
2009 - 14 members
2013 - 19 members
2014 - 19 members

It says 10 members, but math would suggest 26 members smileys with beer
