OK...this could EASILY have gone in some classic Christmas music thread but man SATCHMO CHRISTMAS ALBUM>>>YES!!

Finally arrived, an official Christmas Album being released next month, "Louis Wishes You A Cool Yule"amalgamating all Louis' Holiday releases from oh so long ago, in both red vinyl or picture disc.

OR? You mean both because I'm gonna be doing a bit of gift giving (ok, to more than just myself).

Buy it here...HINT...you can get 10% off as a first time buyer:

[store.udiscovermusic.com]

Also available on CD.

For the Americans...get it direct:

[shop.louisarmstrongfoundation.org] - similar price but you'll prolly save on the exchange and shipping.

Have a Cool Yule everyone!

I watched “Louis Armstrong's Black & Blues” this weekend. It's easily one of the best musical documentaries I've ever seen.

Dang, on Apple TV Plus. The one streaming service I don't have a subscription to.

Unfortunately I'm not going to subscribe to ANOTHER service. I'll patiently wait until it hits elsewhere, or pick it up on blu ray, so I'M IN CONTROL!

BTW...great trailer!:

It is! And I know I'm being very partial, because Louis Armstrong is one of my all-time favorite artists, just like Dylan, Beatles and Stones, to mention just a few.

I'm saving for his latest Mosaic set (the 1946-1966 one). I can't wait to hear the alternate takes from his W. C. Handy album.

Great interview. Keith's reaction when hearing a video of himself playing live is priceless.

There’s a pretty great jazz Doc out now - Oscar Peterson: Black + White. Born and raised in Montreal, he lived his latter life just outside Toronto. A friend of mine occasionally worked as Oscar’s piano tech and adored the man. He told me a story about taking Oscar to see Billy Joel when he came through Toronto some years ago - because my friend wanted to meet Billy Joel. Sure enough, they were taken backstage to meet him at some point. So I was pretty amused when Billy Joel was interviewed in the doc, and talked about how flattered he was that Oscar wanted to meet him. (Shhhhh…don’t tell him!)

I'm looking forward to watching that documentary. Oscar seemed to be one of the nicest musicians that ever existed.

He recorded an enjoyable version of Satisfaction with Milt Jackson, Ray Brown, and Louis Hayes.

I bought a new vinyl copy of Kinda Blue, first time I've had that on vinyl.

I also scored a NM used copy of Sketches of Spain a few weeks ago.

Nice, Cristiano, thanks for that! Ohhh, what would Oscar and Charlie have done if they’d ever got together? (They never did, did they?)
