Because rather than opine we should pray? Because that works?

I used all of my will power to resist commenting on the "ONLY because you are a left-winger" comment. In the process, I avoid the charge of "you are the lowest form", so I got that going for me.

Look, the discussion needs to be about the veracity of religious claims that there is life after death. If people understood that this is the one existance we get, not many would blown themselves up for their deity's favor.

Plus, when there's a fire and someone is hurt or killed, civilised people left or right will think that's tragic but you can also bet your last dollar that the 'Fire dept' will do everything it can to understand what led to the fire being strarted in the first place.........even if that means looking at history and maybe facing some unpalatable truths.

All that's happening here is exactly that..........maybe your freaking out because you were on the violent, greedy Neo cons side of the fence to begin with........maybe

The victims were of all "races" more or less, The Bataclan is seen as a Jewish symbol as well as a symbol of decadent western modern life (Jews are the main target for nazis as well as Islamic terrorists), ISIS is a death cult, a Salafi death cult. No need to excuse their actions by relativism and no need to condemn all muslims.

I don't think terrorists debate whether they are liberals or neo cons. It's not even on the map, probably.

George Bush created Isis, that is an indisputable fact. He gave them their land, he trained their fighters in Guantanamo and he gave them their weapons (the puppet Iraq gov't we armed and which fled, leaving all the arms to Isis).

No Isis is a creation of Saudi Arabia and Qatar to be used against their nemesis Bachar Al Assad.
Nemesis because he's shi'ite (they're sunni) nemesis because he rules a secular state (SA and Qatar are fascist theocraties). Nemesis because Syria is an ally of Iran, the deadly enemy of Saudi Arabia.

So Bachar Al Assad had to be removed and the creation of Isis was the weapon for that task. Pour in Western cynical idiots (Obama Hollande Cameron) who didn't see the danger Isis was and voila! you have a disaster...

The only guy who saw things as they are is PUTIN. I know this isn't what you'll see on CNN but that's the plain truth.

And ask yourself why the Western coallition bombed Isis for 18 months to no avail while Putin's army is defeating this scum in just a few weeks. Allepo (one of Syria's main cities) is about to be freed from Isis and you can thank Putin for that not the Western coallition.

Well, that's true enough but there's certainly a convenience factor involving US politicians. I mean, you had what appeared to be that geezer John McCain saying that HE was friends with ISIS, that he talked with them every day but that's if you're a Fox Loser (you know, the fiction-based "news" channel) - he was talking about Syrian rebels.

This may be a decent explanation for the view that W's regime created ISIS, with, of course, it all being Obama's fault anyway, as this says, “The ISIS that we know today is a product of Syria,” says Jeffrey. “And that’s Obama’s fault.” And of course, there's more:

In May, Jeb Bush was signing autographs after a town hall meeting in Reno, Nevada, when a 19-year-old college student challenged him. Bush had just blamed the rise of the Islamic State, better known as ISIS, on President Barack Obama’s decision to withdraw troops from Iraq. But the student, Ivy Ziedrich, a political science major at the University of Nevada, disagreed, saying the group’s evolution began much earlier—with former President George W. Bush’s invasion of the country. “Your brother,” she said, “created ISIS.”

Jeb cut her off. His brother, he argued, implemented the surge that restored stability to Iraq—and it could have continued, if only Obama had left some troops on the ground. “We are in a much more unstable place,” he said, “because Americans pulled back.”

You could be 100% correct for all I know. I could be wrong but I think there's an assumption by terrorists, in general, that ALL Americans are christians, which is just a longer way of spelling bad or evil.

America has a lot of christians in it but it's not a christian country and their connections to reality are like Swiss cheese. It's a very convoluted ego swilled chest beating country. Seeing how the US government refuses to separate religion from reality by printing the fiction on money and saying it at the end of speeches, it's no wonder the terrorists view all Americans as evil infidels. Its arrogance has helped a lot.

Over 130 innocent civilians killed by islamic terrorists and you're afraid of islamophobia? Get your priorities right. There is every reason in the world to be afraid of islamist murderers!
And there are even just causes to be islamophobic. It's a religion incompatible with Occident values and modern civilisation.

Pretty sure he was talking about the billion plus Muslims that live in peace. I'd say they represent pretty good proof that Islam is compatible with civilization. Islam in and of itself is not the problem, radical extremist Islamic terrorists are of course the problem. Might as well condemn all Christians for the actions and values of the Westborough Baptist church...maybe not the best analogy but hopefully you get my point. Besides do we truly have the right to force Occident values on the rest of the world? Sounds like just the type of thing many condemn radical Muslims for trying to do. Live and let live I say!

Not to be all 'global warming vs climate change' but I've been seeing this pop up more and more.

Radical jihadist. It's, from what I understand, a bit more specific than 'islamic' this and that.

I blame Ted Nugent for the horrible four cornered triangle room that American classic rock radio loves to be in.

No, I'm from Wales.............you're almost certainly right about the terrorists not caring who's in government at this point in time.
I think it does matter though in terms of long term strategey. The way I understand it was one of the lessons of Vietnam was that the communists had a distinct advantage over the US in that they had the ordinary non-combatant locals on their side giving food, shelter and intelligence as to what the enemy was doing when they knew. These same people also gave mis-information to the US troops.
My understanding is the same is happening all over the middle east all the way to Bangladesh whether in support of Hamas, ISIS, Al Qaeda or the Taliban etc etc
One of the main drivers for this quiet allegiance is the appalling way that western businesses treat locals. ie. Cheap clothes for Walmart, Primark, Tesco etc - living and working in squalid conditions so you and I can buy a shirt for next to nothing. (Where possible I only buy "Fair trade" items.
I've long thought that a corner stone of every western countries' foreign policy should be to pass laws that compell big business to ensure their workers whether domestic or foreign should be paid to a rate where they can maintain a decent standard of living comparable to decent standards in the west.
For this you need a strong global trade union movement to monitor and press for the maintenance of high standards of care.
This would win hearts and minds and undermine local support for extremists.
You'll never get this type of system under the US republicans or UK Tories because they only work for the interests of the share holder.
The only chance would be with the more socialist minded governments.
I'm currently lobbying my local Member of Parliament on this and he thinks it's sound logic and worth trying to add to the mix of possible solutions.

For that reason, regarding the long term startegy, I reckon, if people really do want peace - or at least far more peace than is currently prevailing - this has to be seriously considered.
(I do understand there will probably always be some level of discontent amongst the mentally ill no matter how good they've got it - so vigilance will probably always be necessary - unfortunately...........

Allegedly, Mick does not sing the words in all those verses about the Neo Con. Instead, he has been interpreted to attribute those words to the Neo Con to address others by. In the same interpretation, Mick himself addresses the Neo Con only when and where he does so specifically.

As to the subject, also I want to express sadness. And sympathy towards those who have been hit, directly or indirectly.

Concert Industry Plans Changes in Response to Attacks

The music concert industry is starting to impose new security measures after performances were canceled in Paris and throughout Europe by U2, the Foo Fighters and other acts in the aftermath of the attacks at the Bataclan concert hall in Paris.

Live Nation, the global concert giant, said on Saturday that it would increase security at its venues, and other industry representatives are expected to do the same.

“The safety and security of our shows, fans and venues continues to be our highest priority,” the company said in a statement. “Due to the recent events in Paris and in an abundance of caution we have implemented heightened security procedures globally. However, because of the sensitive nature of these protocols, we cannot elaborate further on the specific details.”

Additional security and police officers were present at a promotional event for Justin Bieber at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Friday, Billboard magazine reported. The Staples Center is owned and managed by A.E.G. Live, a rival of Live Nation.

Among the other concerts that have been canceled or postponed in France and around Europe over the weekend were appearances by Haitus Kaiyote, Motorhead, Nekfeu, Marina Kaye, Christophe Willem and Cirque du Soleil’s “Amaluna.”

In some ways the concert business is still reeling from the fire in a nightclub in Bucharest, Romania, last month that killed 55 people.

Some in the concert industry said it was too soon to assess what the developments would mean in the long term for tours and promoters, and it was unclear what effect greater security measures would have against highly coordinated attacks like the one in Paris.

“It’s only logical for major venues worldwide to have heightened security,” said Gary Bongiovanni, editor of Pollstar, a concert industry trade magazine. “But the truth is that there is only so much anyone can do to stop a wave of suicidal attackers.”

Music stars also began to react to the killings. In an interview with the Irish radio station RTE FM2 on Saturday, Bono of U2 called the attacks “the first direct hit on music that we’ve had in this so-called war on terror.”

Madonna addressed the killings in a long statement from the stage during her concert in Stockholm on Saturday.

“In many ways, I feel torn,” she told the crowd, her voice breaking. “Why am I up here dancing and having fun when people are crying over the loss of their loved ones?

“However, that is exactly what these people want to do,” Madonna continued. “They want to shut us up. They want to silence us. And we won’t let them.”

Where's the money gone
In the Pentagon

Yeah ha ha ha
Yeah, well, well

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah...
Neo con

Peace.

I think I want to abstain from political views also on this occasion on a site, where we usually are meant to leave out political views.

No political views,
only The Rolling Stones:

Highwire

Highwire
(Jagger/Richards)

We sell 'em missiles, We sell 'em tanks
We give 'em credit, You can call the bank
It's just a business, You can pay us in crude
You love these toys, just go play out your feuds
Got no pride, don't know whose boots to lick
We act so greedy, makes me sick sick sick

So get up, stand up, out of my way
I want to talk to the boss right away
Get up, stand up, whose gonna pay
I want to talk to the man right away

We walk the highwire
Sending the men up to the front line
Hoping they don't catch the hell fire
With hot guns and cold, cold nights

We walk the highwire
Sending the men up to the front line
And tell 'em to hotbed the sunshine
With hot guns and cold, cold nights

Our lives are threatened, our jobs at risk
Sometimes dictators need a slap on the wrist

Another Munich we just can't afford
We're gonna send in the eighty-second airborne

Get up, stand up, who's gonna pay
I wanna talk to the boss right away
Get up, stand up, outta my way
I wanna talk to the man right away

We walk the highwire
Putting the world out on a deadline
And hoping they don't catch the shellfire
With hot guns and cold, cold nights

We walk the highwire
Putting the world out on a deadline
Catching the bite on primetime
With hot guns and cold, cold nights

Get up! Stand up!
Dealer! Stealer!
Hey!

We walk the highwire
We send all our men into the front lines
We're hoping that we backed the right side
With hot guns and cold, cold nights

We walk the highwire
We send all the men up to the front lines
And hoping they don't catch the hellfire
With hot guns and cold cold, cold, cold, cold nights

We walk the highwire
We walk the highwire
With hot guns and cold, cold, cold nights

With hot guns and cold, cold nights

Second new song on Flashpoint was Sexdrive. Make love, not war, new Version by The Rolling Stones ?

DANGEROUS BEAUTY
(M. Jagger/K. Richards)

In your high school photo
You looked so young and naïve
Now I heard you got a nickname
The lady with the leash

Was it funny on the midnight shift
I bet you had your fair share of stiffs
There were onerous odors
I've got to admit

'Cause you're a dangerous, dangerous
A dangerous beauty
It's so plainfully plain to us
You're doing your duty

Who you got there in that hood, you look so fancy in those photographs
With your rubber gloves on you're a favorite with the Chiefs of Staff

You're doing such a wonderful job
You're a natural at working with dogs
Keeping everyone awake at night
With a touch of the prods

Well you're a dangerous, dangerous
A dangerous beauty
Yeah, disdainfully, painfully
A bit of booty, yeah

You're a dangerous, dangerous
A dangerous beauty
Beauty

Well you're a dangerous, dangerous
A dangerous beauty
If I was your captain, would you salute me

What I say
Yeah everybody
Beauty
Everybody now, yeah

Are you one bad apple in a box
Yeah, dangerous
Dealing out electric shocks
I've seen the gloves coming off
Dangerous
If looks could be killing, I bet you shoot me now

Any questions left ...?

Peace.

I shall pray for you haters. Interestingly the ONLY group who deserves attack is ISIS but then they are mostly of Arab descent and we cant have that, now can we.

I don't want to go to a paradise, sitting among suicide-bombers and hypocritical praying people like you.

I'm praying forcefully, but hopelessly: I'm a non-believer!
