Just curious if anyone
really knows why or how
there is such a wealth
of material from these
sessions as opposed to most
others

Story at the time was that Ronnie's son leaked the tapes to a bootlegger

whether it's true or not way things sure got water-tight in the Stones camp after Voodoo ....

Well it was five years after Steel Wheels and only one tour. That's about four years of studio time. You could get alot done in that time.

Yeah, we only got two boots worth of Steel Wheels material (some repeated?) and only one MP3 disc for A Bigger Bang...

Mick, Keith and Ron all had solo albums in 92/93. Could be a clue there as to how the well was full.

I remember years ago,
coming home from work
and Voodoo Stew and
Stripped Companion both
came in the mail.
I don't think there was
anything else on the stereo
for months!

That makes sense.

Except that they didn't make VOODOO in 4 years...

Demos in April - May 1993 in the West Indies

First LP recording session at Ronnie's in St. Kildare, Ireland July -August 1993 - one song made the LP

Second LP recording session at Ronnie's in St. Kildare, Ireland September 1993 - two songs used for B-sides

Third LP recording sessions at Windmill Lane in Dublin, Ireland November - December 1993 a majority of recordings made the LP

Fourth LP recording session (overdubs, editing and mixing for LP and singles) at Don Was’ private studio and A&M Recording Studios, Los Angeles, California January- April 1994

Slightly over one year... all started 3 years after a 2 year tour... and one @#$%&. Or something.
