A Facebook post about Lou Reed's three album '80s run of "New York", "Magic and Loss", and "Songs for Drella" got friends thinking about other killer album trifectas (trifectae?). We've been compiling a list - I won't give away what we've got already, but I'm curious about what IORRians might come up with. And yes, the Rolling Stones have the sole "quad" on the list (Beggars Banquet, Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, Exile on Main Street) since none of the four albums could possibly be dropped.

Good examples. However, I would say it's still a rarity for bands to be
Able to sustain three to four classic albums in a row. There are many bands out there! That burst of creativity and energy that must drive this musical output is amazing. Sadly for many bands, once it fades, it's a struggle to recapture that creative spark at the same level.

Maybe it's me, but Dylan's albums since Time Out Of Mind, has been an incredibly boring travesty in basic blues in various combinations. How anyone can find that remakable, is truly beyond me.

Not sure I understand what you are sayin' Bastion. I was of course just pointing out one of my favorite 3 song medleys instead of a 3 album attacks. The thread reads like a typical "must have" collection to me, some of the best records of all time.
