I better check it out, then smiling smiley

They had an incredible shop in Gamla Stan in Stockholm in 2003 when I saw the Stones there as well. Looked like the owner only had Stones records there smiling smiley

A great set and performance, but I would like to hear the original mono broadcast. The stereo-mix makes for a weaker-sounding recording, in my opinion. It isn't so apparent with Cops And Robbers, but Route 66 lacks the oomph of, say, the Kilburn release from 1965, or the performance that is featured on the EP, Got Live If You Want It and Decembers Children (And Everybody's).

It wasn't originally broadcast in mono, it was a stereo test transmission.
I'm not aware of a Kilburn recording from 1965.

Oh, okay. I had always assumed that, although mixed in stereo, it was broadcasted in mono. Certainly, most listening at home would've heard it in mono. I'll certainly take your word, though.

The Kilburn show, is the one that was featured on the Charlie Is My Darling boxset, no? Kilburn, North London. Perhaps it was recorded at another location.

From various venues in England 1965, I think, Al.

You'd have only heard half of it if you'd listened on the radio, the other half was broadcast via the TV!
The CIMD/Live In England '65 recordings stem from the same dates as the Got Live! EP i.e. Manchester, Liverpool and London. The London dates were at the Edmonton Regal.

Different circumstances probably has more to do with it, note less distorted guitars, controlled environment etc.

Looking forward to the live series, thank you, and for the direct link.

Listened thru, probably for first time, it was very interesting, charming in a way, and what, 10 people in that audience? (So used to the roar of a large crowd, I guess) Mona was the favorite.

"Around And Around" on the Charlie Is My Darling soundtrack was from the TAMI show although it wasn't included on the soundtrack CD.

There it is, also, in the film, if I remember right Satisfaction audio is from Autumn 1966.

a great example of the early r&b Stones, how they sounded way back then... A joy for my ears.

The Camden theatre belonged to the BBC so what you hear is a tiny studio audience. This was not a live performance that people paid to attend.

Worth mentioning that the official release of this EP, comes from a different source than the bootleg. The intros are a bit different although the music itself are sounding much the same. So clearly, they have not just taken the bootleg itself and made it official.

They really ought to be releasing such things through more usual means.

Glad they released Live 65 as a download as well, but an official CD release would of course be welcomed. Stupid to have such recordings stuck to overpriced box sets.

Unfortunately, the looped audience screams on Live 65 is painful on my ears, there's one particular scream which sticks out and appears many times through the whole release. hot smiley

One of the great things about the Camden Theatre recordings is that we get to hear them playing live without the screaming banshees. cool smiley
