He didn't die in his sleep. He died of septic shock in the hospital. The origin of it is unknown. He became very sick at home from an infection and died the next day while being treated at Brooks Memorial Hospital close to where he lived.

He died in his sleep. Was fighting multiple myeloma, which caused him severe back pain.
He didn't move much on stage and didn't seem well, but he sounded great.
Dying in your sleep in your own bed isn't a bad way to go. Will miss their shows.
