THE CAUSE

For 26 years, the Jazz Foundation of America has been keeping jazz & blues alive by helping the musicians who played with everyone from Duke Ellington & Billie Holiday to Jimi Hendrix & The Rolling Stones. We now assist in more than 5,000 cases a year nationwide.

OUR PROGRAMS INCLUDE

• Preventing homelessness and eviction by paying rents and mortgages

• Creating dignified work through our Agnes Varis Jazz & Blues in the Schools program, which employs over 250 musicians every month and reaches 70,000 audience members a year—from public schoolchildren to seniors in nursing homes

• Providing free medical care and operations through our angels at Englewood Hospital & Medical Center, who have donated $7 million in services since 1994

• Being there with our Musicians' Emergency Fund when illness, hunger, accident or another crisis strikes

Our efforts over 10 years since Hurricane Katrina have helped more than 1,000 of New Orleans' most beloved musicians find work and new homes for their families. Thanks to the Agnes Varis Trust, hundreds of these artists continue to perform every month.

Whatever the need is, we don't just fix the problem... we heal it with dignified solutions and love.

Sounds like a fun and historic night. If I already hadn't committed to attending
the Cubs win at Wriggly Field then I would have made the trip to NY for the show.

Yes it was lucky but unfortunately it's for Thursday night. The way tonight's game and this series is going I would say the famous curse is still intact. Not willing to say it's over until it's over though. The series could end tonight.

Waiting on a friend, maybe?

really why do ya think

Sorry, if this has been answered...
Because Sonny Rollins did that wonderful sax solo in "Waiting on a Friend."

Would love to be there, have fun you lucky ones who are in!!!

(If anyone gets a chance to meet Gwen Terry, say hi to her for me. We spent
a little time together in Eureka Springs, Arkansas at a writing retreat.)

Looking forward to this - whether periscope (thanks for the links Cristiano), or simply listening via links provided bye bye johnny.

Even though it will only be two songs, it almost has the same excitement level as a full Stones show imo.

Go Keith! thumbs up

Possibly the lyrics to Harlem Shuffler? A bit disappointed we won't get a tune from Keith's record.

Lisa looks unrecognizable to me, I wouldn't recognize her walking down the street.

Wonder why Waddy wears that band around his arm? Possibly a tendonitis treatment device?

Haha I don't know much about his history, just assumed it was a wild guess like others have given.
When I look at that picture, I somehow hear Something For Nothing...just a wild guess!

I always thought it was a modified tefillin.
He sometimes has it tied in a manner
real close to the traditional way.

Harlem Shuffle would be cool to hear
but it would be good to know where RTJ got that information.

Where's that very nice photo from, while we're at it?
Please and thank you
