I loved this one when it came out! It probably is a bit dated but I still like it overall. Off the top of my head I can't think of a bad song on it. I rank it up there w/ Voodoo L.

Im 26 and Babylon is one of my top 3 Stones albums.

Great Stuff Rockman ( I am always so tempted to type Sockman).

Nearly complete!

One of my Favorites is Lowdown.

A lesson ( a la Keith) in building something from nothing.

I do love the guitars on this one - and Jagger's vocals of course, including yapping.

The climax is great and then the simple two- chord ending, as it starts.

Neat. Simple. Masterful.

Something for everyone on this album.

But not everything for everyone it would seem.

Except for two of us here, at least, with Rock or Stone monikers.


ps I had always assumed that Gu face was a Mick song.


Oh, AND it's not ahead, and it's not behind. It's Bang on Time.

And so special because the writers brought all their new material to a Stones table rather than retreating into solo territory. Born of enthusiasm and no small amount of inspiration ( as per Steel Wheels).

Joie de vivre ensembles, like real bands have.

That's what marks B2B out as so special ( As most albums until and including 1989)

I never listen to it. There are at least 10 great albums and a number of other still very good albums to pick from, when I want to listen to the Stones. None of those are from the post-Tattoo era.
Occasionally I listen to Thief in The Night, on YouTube.

Nearly 25 years after release I still don't get the idea/concept behind this album. For me its not an album, more a collection of songs. Interesting: 'Tattoo You' just is a collection of songs, but to me feels like their best 'late' ALBUM to me.

B2B was recorded like that, f.ex. no Keith on 'Saint': just a collection of songs instead. Just a handful of songs I'm still listening to. But also the feeling, especially this album could've been much much better without the fights between Mick and Keith.

Ahead of its time? Definitely not. One more bad compromise between retro-Keith and progressive-Mick. Those limit most of the releases since 1983.

I feel exactly the same way as you about Bridges To Babylon. I was 15 at the time rather than 12, but the sentiment is totally the same

Bridges is their best album since Tattoo.I think it’s a great album.Also like Voo Doo and Steel Wheels more than Undercover Emotional Rescue and Dirty Work.They also have great songs on them.Bigger Bang is a bomb.

It's strangely dated. It's one thing to be experimental, another to not be particularly good at it. None of the cuts survived being played live now. In fact is You Got Me Rocking the only post Wyman album song they've played live since 2012?

I know they've done Doom and Gloom and Ghost Town. And oh yeah, they played a couple of the 'bonus' cuts from the GHS and TY boxsets.

And the singalong “Saint of me” is also live a highlight. I hope that they add the Amsterdam 2003 version as bonus on the new dvd

keith's played the worst and streets of love was played with mick taylor i think in rome in 2014

also several songs off b&l

and i don't think they have every played criss cross, scarlet or all the rage off the deluxe ghs much to my disapointment

i miss anything?
