That paragraph alone is loaded with mistakes smiling smiley

A Quick One is from... A Quick One, Bill...

I'm also pretty sure Keith could have vetoed himself in on any instrument he'd like in that super group. It was the Stones's show!

I don't think Lennon would agree to play unless it was the lineup he wanted.
You don't think it was the Stones that wanted them to perform one of Yoko's songs do you?

Wyman's screw-up of saying the Who played "Tommy" is great example of why we can't place too much emphasis on what one person says, especially if it is self-serving ("I wrote Jumping Jack Flash").

Good points, but I think John would have played anyhow, as long as Yoko could do her number smiling smiley

What is a "dirty mac" anyway?
I've always thought they called themselves "dirty mag" but didn't care enough to fix the mistake afterwards. But I'm probably wrong.

Bill Wyman never said he wrote JJF. He wrote the riff on keyboards.

John uses the word in a song, too - "the man in the mac said you gotta get back you know they didn't even give us a chance" in "the ballad of john and yoko"

one could possibly think, after reading Bill's remarks over the years, that

he didn't like Keith very much...

NOOOOO!
Say it isn't so!

I only just learned in the October 2015 UNCUT magazine that Keith plays bass on Billy Preston's That's the Way God Planned It (1969). With George Harrison and Clapton on guitars.

lol!

it's amazing that Yoko's music became such a huge success in this past decade. still blows my mind.

She was a well-respected artist. Many of her followers probably saw/heard the art in her music as well...

Her last album, Take Me To The Land Of Hell, was really excellent.

I thought you were kidding about that title until I looked it up. It truly would've been funny if you'd made that title up so I'm somewhat disappointed. Anyways, carry on.

No, she has a sense of humour. Another album was called Yes I'm A Witch.

Please. You sound like her there. She was a con women.

Hey I just took a piss, while screaming, and throwing paint against my wall. I am an artist.

She was a well respected artist before John met her. That's a fact, like it or not.

Indeed. And a classically trained pianist too.

Because Keith was the best bassist in the room. Clapton was the best guitarist, Mitch Mitchell the best drummer, and Lennon the best singer.

The name Dirty Mac was also a play on Fleetwood Mac, as John and his lads were playing the blues and Fleetwood Mac and their blues revival was all the rage in England at the time.

Great peformance by John, one of the alltime great rock and roll voices.
Not sure that Keith playing bass stands up musically, clearly Bill would have been a better choice.
But Lennon is the real article and its a great number.

Why are you not sure, it's a 12 bar blues? Was it that bad to you?

I like the old sod, but he's become a a real whinge-bag in recent years.

I like Bill's book Moan Alone. Keith's book Strife is similarily grumpy.

A happy bunch those stones.

I'd love it if Jagger ever got around to telling his story.
