Okay, I understand most of the nominees. Charlie Rich is a special mention. Check out his Pictures and Paintings album - superb - and his stuff for Sun Records and the from the late 50s/early 60s. But, WTFFFF...Justin Timberlake? Why and what for?

He's from Memphis and has made a pretty big impact, like him or not.

It is my understanding that Scotty Morre has a sick relative so he will not personally attend.

I think he's part owner of their NBA team and goes back quite frequently.

Rumor has it he's planning a move back, wants to raise his kids where he grew up.

I still remember when he won some video award over Johnny Cash's "Hurt" and he said it was a travesty that he should beat Johnny Cash.

Don't care for his music but seems to be a pretty cool guy.

Richards praised Scotty Moore for influencing his career. Scotty Moore played guitar on Presley's first recording, "That's All Right," at Sun Studio in 1954, and traveled with Presley as the rock n' roll icon started his music career.

Richards dropped the award when he approached the podium.

"I dropped it classically, tastefully," Richards joked.
