I liked this album from the very beginning. To me it sounded fresh, midern and dirty. The variation of styles and mood put in a frame holding them together. Mean Disposition is one of my favorites of the album. It's a great song, that can be played in different ways. I play one version with my accoustic not trying to imitate the original sound but taking the mood of the song. Weak songs break in parts if you try this.

I thinka lot of the songs are really goodbut do not like the musical arrangements andmixes on most of the songs.

I have no problems with the mix, and there's some good stuff on VL.

However, it suffers from the CD-age. It's too long.

Love Is Strong
You Got Me Rocking
Sparks Will Fly
The Worst
New Faces
Brand New Car
Out Of Tears
Baby, Break It Down
Sweethearts Together
Mean Disposition/I Go Wild (I like the former best)

would IMO make a shorter, more concise and still varied album.

Yes ... that's question asked about a lot of older "double albums" or "Cd age" albums with the new longer available running times.

Problem is..tastes vary , and would we rather be totally without the songs that might nor be our very favourites ?

I like the Voodoo Screws compilation from Ghostrider/Ghostryder14. Nice blend. Looks like it is still in stonesvault/filefactory.

VOODOO LOUNGE released in the 2020s with songs as we know offically:

Love Is Strong
You Got Me Rocking (Ugh, better lyrics can't help this song)
Sparks Will Fly (hopefully with better lyrics)
The Storm
The Worst
Jump On Top Of Me
Brand New Car
Out Of Tears
Baby, Break It Down
I'm Gonna Drive
Mean Disposition

The one exception would be a heavily edited Thru And Thru as track 11... because Mean Disposition is a nice snarly little killer fast blues... that could be shorter.

I’m glad Was steered the album to classic era Stones direction. Those groove demos Mick wanted to do do not sound very promising. I suppose Suck On The Jugular is the closest one from the final album that present those ”groove tunes” and it’s the worst track on VL.

Ivy League, musically, anyway, is fantastic. Too bad it didn't get finished. It's Funny, Make It Now and You Got It Made, too. Hopefully all or some will be on the upcoming MEMORY HOTEL or whatever it's gonna be called, if, of course, that is what's happening, or partially.
