Cosmo's Factory - CCR

While there are several obvious ones mentioned in this thread......this is a good call thumbs up

Yes it is. I just received a copy of the original album after years of just having the Greatest Hits albums. I had it on at my desk the other day and thought to myself "How many hits were on this album?" as one after another great song passed by.

Peace,
Mr DJA

I think the original album cover is more of a masterpiece....but for me the only song on that album that stands the test of time is Marley Purt Drive.

To be honest, I don't think nobody touches David Bowie here. Take every song from Station To Station and up to, and including Lodger. Every single song is a masterpiece on those albums. And keep in mind that he more or less wrote all of Iggy Pop's Lust For Life and The Idiot and released Scary Monsters after Lodger. The quality is simply unmatched by anyone on a song by song basis. The Beatles or The Stones never had that many albums in such a short time having that level of quality.

John Barleycorn Must Die Traffic
Workingmans Dead Grateful Dead

Yes!!! All tunes are good on these two albums. I am far from a Dead fan but Workingmans Dead is solid!

I absolutely agree with

Guns n´Roses - Appetite For Destruction and
AC/DC - Back In Black

and would like to add

Pearl Jam - Ten
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magic
Temple of the Dog - Temple of the Dog
Tom Waits - Rain Dogs
Black Crowes - The Southern Harmony And Musical Companion.

Slightly OT: pretty close to "perfect" (maybe one "non-masterpiece" each):
Pride and Glory - Pride and Glory
Screamin´Cheetah Wheelies - Magnolia

Cheers, Fillmore

Although all of this is quite subjective, it is interesting to see what kind of music you like. Let me add four more:

Roger Waters Amused To Death
David Bowie Aladdin Sane
Muddy Waters Hard Again
Bob Dylan Oh Mercy

Oh what the hell... I don't normally play these games and in general most already listed are 'masterpiece' albums...so I'm going to throw another (non stones) one in the mix..

Jailbreak - Thin Lizzy

Not a band that's in my top ten but this album slays me every time.. No filler!

IMO of course.

Deja Vu - CSNY
Harvest - Neil Young

This is very subjective as we all have our own ideas of an album good from start to finish. Here's a few I can listen to from start to finish.

Marvin Gaye - What's Going On?
Stevie Wonder - Innervisions
Gram Parsons - Grievous Angel
Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
Ella (Fitzgerald) and Louis (Armstrong) - their first collaboration album
Tom Waits - The Heart of Saturday Night
Bruce Springsteen - Tunnel of Love
Neil Young - Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere
Frank Sinatra - In the Wee Small Hours
Francis Albert Sinatra & Antonio Carlos Jobim
