All interpretations may be correct, have some relationship ... but there is a secret in the painting I'd like to be found ...
Another clue: the really roots. A moment that became a song, and then in a legend.

Maybe something to do with Muddy Waters? Get Green Lady on the puzzle, she'll have it figured out in no time.

Yo me! The white 'plus' at the bottom looked like an intersection to me with a sign planted in the middle, that's all I recognized smoking smiley

I like the drawing very much. Is it OK to use as a background for my computer?

It would help if my computer screen would let me see all of it at once.

Top left you can see the hat, and in center his head in profile.
This kind of signal in the middle of crossing, works allegorically.
Yes Koen, you have my ok.

Checkerboard motif is very prominent and makes it difficult to discern the actual subject matter...
Checkerboard: Is it the result of the subject intersecting with a secondary shape?
Maybe lessen the checkerboard effect to reveal the object's form better?
Love the watercolor technique.

Yes Schillid, the checkerboard effect plays an important role. Because in that way I maintain intrigue, mystery, enigma (as the title indicates). It wasn´t in my interest to reveal the subject and the character ...
I don´t like condition the interpretation of each receiver ... so I liked interacting with you in order to enrich the painting with their different views. It's the same when an artist writes the lyrics of a song. I like to have that look on art.
Thanks thumbs up
