So what's next? Paris 76 or the complete Knebworth? There aren't too many obvious ones left now. Chicago Double Door 97 perhaps? Or the endless Vegas period from 89 onwards.

Well, they did a few shows at clubs in 1995...

But I reckon Toronto Phoenix comes out first.

Brixton was fantastic!

Yes, there were some fantastic versions at Brixton, All down the Line comes to my mind.

Toronto Phoenix might be in pipeline. But wasn't Toronto Palaise Royale Ballroom 2002 an even better warm up gig?

I was always looking for a 81/82 show as good, or almost as good, as Hampton. So I'm more than satisfied with this one. But maybe the poor filming was the reason to why this one was canned?
And this seems to be an ongoing thing with the Stones: When the picture is fine the sound is weak and vice versa. I can't think of any other band with resources like the Stones having this constant problem.

Was it canned, what do you mean?

Personally, think it was befreeing to get a not so pro-shot video for this show.

Well, if they released the film 33 years after it was shot it must have been canned in the meantime...

They have video feed for the screen for all the shows they used the screen on this tour. I don't think that was for the purpose of release, though.

So, it was more like while doing this Vault series they probably thought «we have film, can we use it?» rather than thinking back in the dya «let's can this, it isn't good enough», I belive smiling smiley

Yep, we see what the audience (the lucky ones who were close enough) saw on that show. That is kinda cool in a way, imo smiling smiley

A full MSG show from 1969 would be a dream; perhaps one day some more of the Pro-Shot material from 1969 will see the light of day, it probably won't be soon though..

2005 club show up next methinks

The songs on the Ya Yas Deluxe without overdubs weren't really impressive, to put it mildly, though. But we know they have great shows. So bring it on, indeed! thumbs up

Other than VHS tapes I don't have anything from the Voodoo tour. Wish they would release Miami or Giants stadium.

I believe the other two were better, though. But some of the songs from Brixton are indeed fantastic!

Although Tokyo 1990 is a decent release for a standard show from 89-90, I feel that this was a missed opportunity to commercially release Atlantic City 89 which IMHO, blows away Tokyo performance wise.

nice dvd of leeds I really enjoyed it, only minor complaints are to many close ups and not following the guitar solos properly

leeds is great because it is truly from the vault and not something we all have already

Just finished my viewing of the show. Holy crap. I've never seen a band match the energy the Stones were putting out there, particularly from Brown Sugar through Satisfaction. They went @#$%& next level. I also think this show contains one of the best versions (if not THE best) of Imagination the band ever did. The only negative I have is (you guessed it) the camera work, which is truly atrocious. The constant close-ups were making me claustrophobic. One of the rare times where there wasn't enough Jagger on screen. But overall an awesome viewing experience.

Amazon.co.uk do not appear to sell it direct, but by a third party marketplace seller. HMV in Reading doesn't have it in stock - has there been some sort of mistake with the Live at Leeds, Roundhay, 2cd/DVD set ?

Yep it's a pretty cool gig. Great scene in "let me go" where Ian Stewart and Chuck are both playing the same piano and Stunks really digging the song. I mus say Keith looks rough - I was just thinking "Shit, he looks bad, I hope I don't look like that when I'm 38" and then I remembered that I am 45! He looks at least 50 in this gig - yellow rotting teeth and grey wrinkled skin.
I still love him though! But it's funny - he looks like he has aged 10 years in the 6 months since the Hampton gig.

I guess if he looked 50 at 38 it explains why he looks 100 now that he's nearly 72!

All I can say is I hope I look like he does in this gig when I am 75!

It was the last show of the tour. They all looked worn-out. Amazing energy, though.

The other comment I have is - Bill looks fairly cool in this gig - but he has really aged and now he looks like a really old man. It's strange - Keith looked rough in 82 (is a lot older than he actually was) and now he looks old but cool. Whereas in 82 Bill probably looks younger than he was (he was 47 then I think) but he looks seriously old these days.....

The other weird thing I just thought of is that in this gig I think most of the band are younger than Coldplay are now....I know it's a weird comment to mark but what I Am trying to say is - it's funny how in 1982 the stones were viewed as old and "dinosaurs" whereas now, a band the same age or olds would still be viewed as "current"....

Did you all pay roughly $29. nearly $30.
for this DVD?
That's the price I'm seeing here for USA.
Kinda steep. Would love this, tho, but wondering is this price normal?
Thanks---

On the other hand,
$30. is the price for a concert ticket in 1982 to see
a concert up front, live,
in their hot glory 1982.
A tour I missed.

These releases seem to drop in price after a few months. Maybe down to $15 in
Or so in six months. I sure want to support these great releases though so
paying a little more money is not always a bad thing.

Got my Leeds '82 copy today. First I have to say it's a great "archive" release in my opinion. Second, I have to say I understand (through it's faults) why it wasn't issued until now. Overall I'm in love with it. I hope the Stones management is reading this because I would like for them to continue releasing this kind of stuff for us fans. On the flip side I would like to say I'm disappointed by the channel switching on the Tokyo '90 release. People like me are big fans and supporters and it's a real slap in the face to make such a simple and foolish mistake, I hope this was not intentional. Seriously I can not listen to it because of this. It's kind of a waste and creates dis-trust in my opinion. Please do the archive releases correctly as possible. I'm sure there are many fans waiting for the next title.
