There's lots of jazz in Kendrick Lamar, Kamasi Washington and the rest of the Odd Future associated music from Los Angeles.

The Stones have never made anything as dirty as Hound Dog Taylor or RL Burnside ever did, regardless of it being blues. Those dudes just can't be touched.

There may be enough diversity with what they did based on what little has been said. It sounds like it will be a well rounded LP.

Hopefully we will see a press release next week. That would fit the timeframe of two months till the release in early December.

Any rumors about a possible single soon?

Yes ,there will be a new single .

Said who?
A Blues-song released as a single would peak at No. 185. Ouch. I dont think there will be a single-release.

Is the picture of the harps the cover of the Blues-album?

Unless it's an ad for Lee Oskar harps (made by Tombo), I doubt it. Could be wrong, though. Would never have thought they'd have chosen the No Security cover!

The album contains chicago blues covers. They were recorded live in studio in 3 days with musicians in circle around the mics, no edit on songs, You can hear Watts drums thru Jagger mic. Record sounds raw, very authentic. Captures the essence of what they are.

In other words, Don Was didn't @#$%& them up with compression and other cheesy studio tactics...

Maybe final production is yet to be done.

Really looking forward to a new album by the Stones (albeit covers) that more than likely won't have any cringeworthy moments that have tainted all of their studio albums of originals since God knows when.
Perhaps this detour back to their roots will help inspire the other new album of originals to a higher level of quality by cutting out all the crap...one can only hope.

That would be contrary to saying that the record sounds "raw"

I sure hope they play several cuts at Desert Trip. To the extent the covers are "classics" perhaps Mick will be comfortable bumping a few songs from the set list.

smiling bouncing smiley Moreover, Aerosmith did already put the harmonica in the cover of their blues album "Honkin' On Bobo", so I'm positive that the Stones don't want to turn out copying them (now, that would be weird).
