Posted by: bye bye johnny ()
Date: September 9, 2015 17:29

Not on the show's site yet, but this report cites NBC confirmation:

"NBC confirms that Emma Roberts, who stars as Chanel Oberlin on FOX’s new slasher comedy, will appear on the Friday, September 18 episode.

Keith Richards and Kevin Delaney are also scheduled for that night’s episode."

I hope Keith picks up a guitar this time around for crying out loud.
Last time he said he was "rusty" and wouldn't do it when asked, but surely he's loosened up with recent tour?
The Roots band are more than capable of backing him up, and would make him shine!

Keith jamming with a hip hop band? Surely many here won't be happy about that, sadly.

"Hip hop band" sells The Roots very short.

They'll more than hold their own if they back up KR.

Not a fan of hip-hop, but being the house band for the Tonight Show, they're way more diverse than that.
They've backed up many artists on the show including Neil Young who is about as far away from hip-hop as possible.

Do we have any reason to assume at this point that Keith won't be backed by the Winos (or the nearest version thereof)?

Yeah I know, I was just stoking the anti-hip hop sentiment around here tongue sticking out smiley
I love hip hop and recently I fulfilled a long time dream to see The Roots in concert and they did not disappoint. They were amazing!

Keith's been on Fallon and seems to have a rapport with the Roots. Despite what he says he still has love. Was it Chuck D. who visited them on tour this summer?

Mick Taylor! visited Fallon and played 'Can't You Hear Me Knocking'
with that band and it was HOT.

Yeah Keith! He is so freakin' hysterical the more the better take what he gives either chatting up lemons or playing, what a TV night the 18th :-)

Sorry to appear a bit ignorant...I do not live in the States...is Tonight recorded or is it a live show?
Scripted...with agreed questions?

Its a "live" show thats recorded at 5pm in the afternoon and airs at 11:30pm on TV. I believe they are usually filmed pretty live in an hour, with commercial breaks for the studio audience, and in some very rare occasions they refilm segments or interviews that got messed up by too much laughing or something else. But normally its a 40 minute show thats recorded fairly live earlier in the day and aired that night.

Yes I went to a show back about 15 years ago, it's filmed for the exact time length it errors, the only difference is when commercials are inserted later the band plays on.

The host (Leno at the time) comes out early (before makeup and change of clothes) and talks to everyone, introduces the cast, etc. But I believe it was a 60 minuet show and they filmed for that exact time and show over.

Keith with the Roots is a good pairing I would think..

especially after his recent comments disparaging a certain album for not having much in the way of roots..
smiling smiley

I was in the audience for last Sept show when he was there with his daughter promoting her book. Keith's the man.

When did he say he was rusty?
Not last September - he wasn't even asked to play Malaguena, which was just stupid.

with sssoul- it was during one of his interviews with Jimmy Fallon.
Not sure which one - maybe when it was still "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon"?
Going off of memory, he basically shrugged off the suggestion to pick up a guitar, grumbled something, and said he was "rusty".

Thanks Hairball!
Maybe it was during the flurry of interviews when Life came out.
But still, not having an acoustic on hand when Keith was there to promote Gus & Me
seemed totally obtuse. (I really don't like Fallon - does it show)

Keith made the comment about being rusty back in May 2010.

He guested on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" to plug the 'Exile' reissue.

Or in stupid American terms, it's "pre-recorded".

Hoping Keith plays a song or two. He's the only musical guest on Friday, but actually is lined up as the headliner.

Will he have sight of the questions before the interview?
Will he/his Management stipulate any no go areas?
