Good game last night. I actually picked the Saints in pick-em games. The home field thing is huge in the NFL.

It used to be with the Saints. Then last year happened! And last year these t-shirts came out:

as far as bountygate. if the players weren't paid to take out warner and favre good for them because they clearly were trying to do it. i can't remember the numbers from the film reviewed but the nfl listed something like 17 late/questionable hits against warner/favre in those playoffs plus an illegal high/low on favre. there was also footage of some players high fiving eachother after favre appeared to have to be taken out of that game. this wasn't right after the play happened but after favre was down for several seconds and then was escorted off the field. i've never seen players celebrating after someone gets up off the field after appeaering injured

So... there's footage of players doing things that have been done before - taking out QBs and celebrating. Questionable hits... uh huh. OK. High/low hits... uh huh.

So... that means there was a "bounty". Which was never proven. I could see people continuing to complain if the Saints had, oh, batted a ball out of the endzone to win a playoff game... and on and on.

What some people seem to ignore is the defense was on fire that year. So... that means something was up? HA HA! In that case the 1970s Pittsburgh Steelers were CRIMINALS!

What a coach says in the locker room is what a coach says. You think - obviously you do - that players took that hyperbole serious? That's beyond laughable.

The Saints won SB44 with talent and determination. That's it. There's nothing more to it.

the late hits and high/low are all easily viewed on youtube. as a matter of fact the illegal high/low was never flagged. I don't even want to talk about the 3 straight calls gifted to the saints in OT of the nfc championship game. 2 1st downs not converted and a phantom pass interference

how bad is the damning proof showing guys celebrating after favre appeared to be hurt? the nfl themselves had it removed from youtube. it was not shown live during the game as it was one of several cameras obviously that are always recording. after bountygate came about someone somehow had uploaded it to youtube and the nfl had it pulled. you would think it was in the nfl's best interest to leave something on youtube that could be seen as proof yet even they had it pulled.

finally why are only saints players saying there wasn't one while even former redskins players said the same guy Williams ran the same type of system while he was on the redskins staff. funny how players from other teams said this guy ran bounties while he was their defensive cooradinator but saints players where testifying up and down he never ran a bounty program. I guess Williams did it for years before with other teams and then all of the sudden stopped when he got to the saints?

I dunno. You'd have to ask them. All I know is it was never proven.

The hits... yeah, they were aggressive, weren't they!

thats like saying i'm rich because i robbed a bank and that shows that i'm a go getter. the hits were aggressive because they were illegal. funny drew brees always wants a flag every time he's touched yet had no problem with his defense hitting QBs several seconds after they had thrown a football and were flagged for roughing the passer.

again. watch the film. right here in the link

You really need to stop whining about the Saints.

The only thing handled worse than Deflategate by the NFL was Bounty Gate. It was a total sham.

Yeah, the high-low thing was questionable. The high part wasn't exactly a mauling though. Henderson's catch? Well... he caught it but upon review, perhaps they saw enough that when he first touched it it was a first down. "This was questionable". The first downs? They were close enough for whoever reviewed them. Those booth reviews... the NFL has done a lot of stupid shit over the past few years, a lot of of including to and with the Saints.

I dunno. Maybe the NFL really did want the Saints to win. The Saints made the Colts look silly though in the Supe.

Coach couldn't protest because... there's no coach's union. If there was Goodell would've been FIRED.

As he should have been.

He knows how to make buckets of money for the owners, but almost every football-related decision he has made has been wrong.

it might be questionable but its still automatically a penalty but wasn't called. they let it go sometimes if one of the players was pushed into the QB but both players were untouched

2 of those 3 missed calls though i saw were wrong in real game time. the only one i didn't notice was the pass interference because i didn't see the angle they use in that video. i could tell the pass hit the ground and the the ball was knocked loose and recovered behind the 1st down marker while the player was in the air

Carolina at Seattle. A must watch game. The final score wll be either 17-13 or 20-17. However, it's difficult to determine the winning side. It boils down to Carolina's defense versus Russel Wilson and a staunch home field advantage.

I am getting my game face on now! Sitting corner of the endzone on the lower level. GO HAWKS! WOO HOO!hot smiley

PS: looks like some rain probable during game. Not cold though. Just the way we like it in Politcallycorrectville. I'm taking the water taxi over to the game again. $10 roundtrip vs. $50 to park & fight postgame traffic jam. The math is pretty easy on that one.smoking smiley

I can't stand Carolina but I also can't stand Seattle. I don't know who's worse - Cam Newton or Russell Wilson. Seattle has the non-blocking Jimmy Graham.

I hope it's a tie.

Yup -you have great seats! Also great -that you're not wasting money. Enjoy the game!

Great win for the Steelers as Bryant (#2 receiver) and 3rd string QB Jones play in their first games of the season.

Miami, Jets and Houston in convincing wins, Cinci remains unbeaten and amazingly the Browns are keeping up with the Broncos, 23-23 at Denver halfway through the 4th quarter.

You are right. We are going through like the last year of Reggie Bush @ USC. Today's game was horrible in the 4th quarter. These guys need to quit reading their press clippings & just play. I would exclude Earl Thomas & the Beast from that analysis. Those guys brought it. Rest of the team, not so much.sad smiley

Carolina is a tough team to run against. The game itself had a "playoff" feel. It was great to watch on tv.

seahawks pretty much out of the playoffs. they are on life support. shows you can't let that much talent walk and replace it with average guys. this literally reminds me of the jets during the 1st 2 years of rex ryan coaching and mark sanchez. have great talent. let them walk and replace them with average guys. after a few years it catches up to you

as for the jets. they can't sleepwalk through the first half of the patriots game if they want a chance to win. they have been average in the first half of games but on fire after halftime. they have outscored their opponents 34-0 in the 3rd quarter this year

Happy that my Steelers won! Wasn't really feeling all that good about it going into the game. Just keep surviving until Ben's back, right? Third string QB's aren't known for producing many wins in the NFL.

Wish I could have stayed awake for the whole Patriots game. Especially after I found out that I can use the NFL app on my phone to watch the game live when my wife decides to turn on some "We live in Alsaka and have lots of hardships" reality show. I have a feeling that app is going to get more use before the end of the season! How about that blocked extra point by Collins? Saw that on Sports Center today.

Peace,
Mr DJA

Loved what the Stillers did Sunday. They gave up a lot of passing yards, but only one TD to Arizona, which has scored more points than any NFL team, including the Patriots. Stillers defense is looking better and better.

And how about Landry Jones? Guess no one will be asking why he hasn't been cut this week.

Hss anyone heard anywhere WHY the Colts snapped the ball on that "fake punt" play? I can understand the punter for Michigan (NCAA) not understanding that his best play was to simply fall on the ball rather than to attempt to kick it (Saturday - NCAA football) but, the Colts are professionals. Surely the center had to be thinking something along the lines of, "Hey coach, I can't block all these guys BY MYSELF!" Although it didn't cost them the Super Bowl, that call, and the execution of the play was probably dumber than the Sea Hawks throwing a slant pass in the Super Bowl.

Peace,
Mr DJA

The Arizona-Pittsburgh game was interesting match up and I'm somewhat surprised Pittsburgh won.

Don't count out Seattle yet. Plenty of games and plenty of upsets (not to mention devastating injuries) to go.

Chicago almost looked like they'd taken a turn for the better. But nooooo.

its hard for me to see any team that already has 4 losses to make the playoffs. on paper there are 4 more losses seattle will have. steelers, at vikings, at arizona and possible home arizona or a 49ers game. hard for me to see them getting in 8-8

Supposed Indy was hoping to draw the Pats offsides but Belicek looked at their lame formation and didn't take the bait. Injuries will make or break the Patriots this year IMHO.

I've also since heard Indy's coach talk about trying to catch the defense with to many players on the field with that play. To do that, I think the ball must be snapped. Either way, you're right, the Patriots didn't take the bait. I think that you're also correct in your assessment that injuries will be what will make or break the Patriots this year. Thus far, I'm not seeing many other teams that are going to give them a straight up hard time.

Although my Steelers defense IS coming together nicely and I'd like to think that with Ben's return our offense will improve, the Patriots are just looking "special" again this year. Regardless of the strain it may put on me & my mom, here's hoping that, if it comes down to the Steelers vs. Patriots that the saying, "Great Offenses win Games, Great Defenses win Championships" will give the edge to the Steelers again this year!

Peace,
Mr DJA

A total of 21 penalties were cited in last nght's game. It gets old when every other play is called for a penalty or if there is a review. It's almost like games are becoming courtrooms.
