Surprise, Surprise

We're back to wishlists again. However, very little tells us they're are going to abandon their standard format. Which means that every song from 9 to 19 is engraved in stone.
That leaves us with 1-8. And 5 of those are booked by PIB, Dice, YCAGWYN, IORR and JJF/SF/SMU/ [starter]. So, there are 3 slots open for variation. Not 19...

I'd love: Out Of Time, Cry To Me, Hang Fire, Prodigal Son, You Can't Catch Me, @#$%&, Down Home Girl, Walking The Dog, Dandelion. Laugh I Nearly Died....Even to hear 1 or 2 sometime during the tour.

Dunno why they cant knock out
a stormin' harp/guitar version of When You're Gone …….

I don't want to think about you when you're gone
I don't want to hear your voice talk on the phone
All those notes and all those cards
I'm going to throw them in the yard
I'm going to put them in the trash where they belong ……………

ROCKMAN

Wow Rockman, most out of left field suggestion but of all these songs When You're Gone is the one I could instantly imagine them do. It would turn out great for sure

I'd love to see something different, or even recent, like Dancing With Mr D or If You Can't Rock Me or maybe something newer that's never or hardly been played, like She Saw me Coming or Lowdown.

You are always saying that Dirty Work is nothing but a pile of you-know-what and then you´d like to hear Lowdown? Maybe you should give DW one more chance, it´s loaded with songs like Lowdown, Mick shouting, growling and spitting out the lyrics in angersmiling smiley

If You Cant Rock Me would be a good choice. And there is a surprisingly good live version of Dancing With Mr. D on Honk (imo better than the original). They should keep it in their setlist.

...She Saw Me Coming is one of the Stones´ worst songs ever, unworthy to be performed by the Stones or anyone else.
What happened to your impeccable tastegrinning smiley

Would love to hear Moon Is Up, Brandnew Car, Flip The Switch, Too Tough, Too Tight, Wanna Hold You, All About You, Little Red Rooster, Fancy Man Blues and most of all Jiving Sister Fanny. No Use In Crying could be nice too.

Lowdown is a cousin to Love Is Strong, which is a brother to Wicked As It Seems, which seems to have started with One Hit (To The Body).

Seems like you'd love it.

There's nothing on DIRTY WORK that is near the quality of Lowdown.

She Saw Me Coming is one of the better tracks on A BIGGER BANG. Apparently they rehearsed it on the BANG tour but never played it, to my knowledge, at least, which is too bad since it's an up - and funny - song.

Indeed, I like Lowdown but I wouldn´t say it´s better than anthing on DW... one of the better tracks of B2B anyway.

She Saw Me Coming is "too much in the face" for my taste. B-side-track at best. I do not very often skip a track when listening to a Stones record, but in case of She Saw Me Coming I often do.

Predict The List...

Predict the setlist for the opening night in Chicago and see who does best! Nota bene: No money involved. Just for fun.
One point per right guess (if people end up on the same score - the right order of the songs decides).
Let's assume they are doing 19 songs. Here is my wild guess:

01. Brown Sugar
02. It's Only Rock And Roll
03. Tumbling Dice
04. Sad Sad Sad
05. Harlem Shuffle
06. Heartbreaker
07. Street Fighting Man
08. You Can't Always Get What You Want
09. Honky Tonk Women
10. You Got The Silver
11. Before They Make me Run
12. Sympathy For The Devil
13. Miss You
14. Paint it Black
15. Midnight Rambler
16. Start Me Up
17. Jumping Jack Flash
18. Gimme Shelter
19. Satisfaction

She was hot has a Chicago reference. A possibility for 1 of the shows? It got a few outings in 2007, including Paris.

That's right, Grzegorz. Didn't think of that. A good tip for setlist builders in spe...

There needs to be a ballad in slot 4-6.

Almost Hear You Sigh is too much to ask for

Right thinking, SS99.

"Sad Sad Sad" and "Harlem Shuffle"....I don't think they'll be that risky, maybe exchange them with "You Got Me Rocking" and some cover from that Blue & L album

You're probably right, Erik. Maybe I have been reading the Rehearsals thread to thoroughly? It's a wild shot anyway...

the usual setlist (like 2017/18) plus Heart of Stone (if they have the courage and/or that sense of humor)

Re: Predict The List...

to Z's point...stacking the end of the show with 6/7 mega hits is not a bad idea while they experiment with the first half and really surprise....that would be ideal..they kind of did that for Licks...the last great run.Big sigh.
