One of my fave stones songs. Guess it will be a little boring at a gig.

Could also work the way Slipping Away did 2017. SA became the song of the tour for me. Weird, since I've heard it numerous times in concert since 1990.

There was something special with Keith's performance on that song on that particular tour... He can achieve something similar with CDA, imo.

Lovely tune thumbs up

He could do Sleep Tonight and when it gets to the bridge, the direct lift of Coming Down Again, just do that song...

The older Keith gets, the more poignant some of the lyrics to Slipping Away become:

Here comes just another day
That's drifting away
Every time I draw a breath
It's dying away

Always liked this tune live, though for me Happy and You Got the Silver are the best combo.

That said, at the *Vegas '16 show, we were gifted with a threesome from Keith - Slipping Away, Little T&A, and Happy...quite a unique experience.

I think the song is far too personal and hits too many things close to home for Keith to sing now.

Slipping Away is an amazing song. I'm always up for hearing it.

No more or less boring than Slipping Away or Happy---they definitely need a rest. No reason why Keef can't do any song he wants--why does it have to be a KEEF song?..why not do something that had a Jagger vocal on it? Would love to hear him do Beast of Burden or Waiting on a Friend or something. Anything different FFS. smoking smiley

Keith could add a nice blues cover to his set...
I'd be pleased to see him do Happy followed by something like this....

Howlin Wolf - Howlin For my Baby

I'm all for "Coming Down Again". I like this song and that entire album. It's unfair to compare it to EOMS. Still Goat's Head was a way above average for them. I just love Mick Taylor's playing all over it, especially in "Winter".

Hey, why not invite Mick Taylor and they all do a version of "Winter". Everyone gets mellow in the audience. I'd dig it a lot!

I'd cry if I was at a Stones concert and Keith walked up to the mic and said, "Coming Down Again" and then played it. It would be especially emotional.

Even if it's not perfect it would be awesome. I love "Tops" from Philadelphia 1981, warts and all! "Tops" would be great live. "Worried About You" became a great live song for the Stones.

"Coming Down Again" live in 2019 would be great!

It would be nice indeed to hear him singing this old tune with his matured, rough ballad voice. Like he did with "You Got The Silver" during A Bigger Bang tour (and since then).

I'd love to see him do Coming Down Again. Along with bringing back connection.

Some of my most memorable moments at Stones gigs have been the slow songs in the Keith slot. Slipping Away, The Worst, The Nearness of You, You Got the Silver, to name a few... The crowd singing you got the silver at Hyde Park is an especially great memory for me.

Who cares if tourist fans go to the bog during Keith's set. Real fans would love to hear Coming Down Again live, even the ones that cannot be there to witness it!

One of the few Keith songs that has not been performed in front of an audience. I seem to remember that it was mentioned on this board that it was rehearsed in 2003 but cannot be sure.

Might be a good time to break out a brand new original tune if they can manage to get one done.

I will put forward two alternatives for the upcoming tour. One positive and more plausible:

a) They will finish a new fresh album just in time for the tour and include one, maybe even two,
songs from that album in the setlist. Further more they will skip SMU or JJ Flash for an opener
and instead choose something less predictable. Plus add a couple of less predictable songs in
the setlist. In the end we would have about 2/3 warhorses in
the setlist. Considerably less than the usual one.

b) Just a continuation of the European leg. No new album. The predictable setlist all through.
3/4, or more, warhorses.
