Stones could open with "Little by Little" this time!
Imho they tried this trick (opening a show with an ancient obscure tune) at the London 2012 "resurrection" shows and it didn't work at all.
So Jagger decided to open shows with a warhorse (which is much wiser imo again).

I'd love a deep cut (She Said Yeah would be amazing) but will be content with SFM

they need to stop following Midnight Rambler with Miss You,it kills the momentum and I’m surprised Mick doesn’t see that.

At most concerts last year Miss You was one of the best received songs, along with Like A Rolling Stone. In 2014 Miss You kinda lame, too fast and rushed but last tour it kinda had that nightclub feel that the original recording has. And the crowd loved it. And if 70.000 people dig a song, why should anything be wrong with it? Honestly at a stadium show I rather hear a warhorse with all people around me digging it that hearing a rare song with all people around me talking or sitting down. And I guess the band feels the same way.Quote

At the three London shows Miss You was before Midnight Rambler. Also, Miss You was a revelation, much better than on previous tours.

They «tried» that in 1994/95, too, with great success
PS: Stones singles aren't exactly obscure, are they?

Well Jagger admitted NFAway as an opener was a disaster. A show start needed a fast tight song to grab the audience by the neck. Hence the choice of "Satisfaction" for the 97/98 tour.
And I'm sure a late 1963 (!) single was obscure to 95% of the O2 audience in 2012.
Plus it contradicted Jagger's policy about the Stones : keeping it contemporary, making the Stones a 2012 band, not a 1960's band that happens to be still active in 2012... or 2013... or 2019!
Or 2029!

When did Mick say that?
So the spotlight would be on Chuck during the opening song. And what would Keith and Ronnie play? Some fills between the piano part. And they don’t owe us anything absolutely nothing.Quote

Fag break and a few fuzz-chords. Just play it!
PS: A band is nothing without their fans..

They should open with eight songs with Keith on vocals, then a couple of songs with Mick on vocals. Then the last eight with Keith on vocals again. This will satisfied all of Keith,s hangarounds here.So there all of Keith, sfans on these sites will celebrate their god almighty Keith.
