If the Stones talk about doing "something special" they most likely mean they´re going to play Bitch and Emotional Rescue. Do not expect too much.

Somehow I can't see 70-something Keith Richards croaking out Little T&A anymore. It worked in 1981 when he was young and wild. In 2006 it was an embarrassment.
Ah ha ha ha ha! Eh, that was bad. It's amazing, really. It was fantastically bad in 1981, it was... awful bad in 2006.
In 2006, it was sad. Look at the SAL version.

No. I refuse to watch that excuse of a movie nor listen to that horrible live album. I remember it. It's seared into my brain.

Yeah, Shattered on SAL is weaker than 1981 versions, but I don't think it's horrible. As for She Was Hot, I think they do that very well on SAL.

The Rolling Stones app is asking for ideas regarding the Desert Trip show set-list:

When The Whip Comes Down
Rough Justice
You Got Me Rocking

"Shattered" has been performed much worse than it was there, even including Philadelphia in 1981. It was played pretty well in Virginia on the "A Bigger Bang Tour" and at the second Fenway Park show.
As for "She Was Hot",in this case (as often seems to happen on this board),relatively minor imperfections are blown out of proportion. The performance was much more enjoyable than some of the regular songs although,I prefer the Oakland and Atlantic City versions of "She Was Hot".

My only hope for changes in the setlists consists in the possibility that their blues covers album will become a sensational success story. Then possibly all songs on it might feature in the same setlist. That is my Rolling Stones daydream. Later to have several additions from their later coming studio album of Jagger- Richards originals. How wonderful all that would be!

No more Sympathy. I think Gimme Shelter has lost its fire, and it feels like both Keith and Ronnie just don't have the intensity on their guitars to pull it off anymore.
I think the warhorse home stretch has to completely change. Move some warhorses up in the set and figure out a completely new home stretch.
Sigh... I am going to assume the shows next month will be the same show that they have been playing for the past two years.
If they tour in Europe in 2017 what are the chances for a completely revamped set list? I think slim.
If Keith is already shaky, how is he going to be in 2017? It almost feels like set list discussions are going to be moot.
I cannot see the Rolling Stones performing in 2018, I just can't.

i'd love to hear some songs they have not performed for eons:
down home girl
down the road apiece
no expectations
jigsaw puzzle
one hit (to the body)

Perhaps Mick will take a cue from Axl with AC/DC and get beyond the usual and ponder some tracks they've never done before ...

Ballad: Ditch Wild Horses and Angie, and alternate between Memory Motel, Moonlight Mile, Lady Jane or Back Street Girl instead.
Rocker: Ditch IORR, HTW and TD, and alternate between SFM, Bitch, All Down The Line, Rip This Joint and Monkey Man instead.
Jam: Alternate between MR, CYHMK and Slave
«Ultra-Hits»: Ditch SFTD and YCAGWYW, and play Hot Stuff and Salt Of The Earth instead.
