Was able to purchase a very nice single dead center at the Hollywood Bowl ( what they call "Super Seats" ) at face value $145.

All that's available now are several official "Platinum Charity" garden box/up close tickets up to $1,500 each, and a bunch ticketmaster resale tickets at inflated prices.

Other than those, looks like it "sold out" fairly quickly.
Probable 2nd show will be added?

Wondering when he will add Polly to his band and just have her bang a tambourine?

Nice one Tatters. Seriously, the guy stands there like Bill Wyman - the only movement he makes are weird painful 'guitar hero' facial expressions. lol

And yes trainarollin - this Polly gal has him wrapped around her finger, and has left her mark/stain on his (and Pink Floyd's)legacy with her 'poetic' lyrics.

Ah well, like the last time I saw him, it should be a decent show regardless - his guitar playing is definitely unique one-of-a-kind. thumbs up

Don't know anything about this Polly girl, but I agree with you about the unique one of a kind sound. He's not underrated, because he frequently pops up in best guitarists of all time lists. I do think he's overlooked in that he's one of those very few people that has a tone that is instantaneously recognizable to many. I think of people like Ace Frehley, Slash, Keith for that matter to a certain extent. But a guy that you hear that IS the Pink Floyd guitar sound. I think people see the name but they don't truly let that fact sink in that he absolutely deserves to be on these lists, despite not being a guy like Jimmy Page that is so in your face. I think he's done a very good job at being properly rated by the public and having a lasting legacy while also living what appears to be a very comfortable and easygoing life. It seems like it would be great to be David Gilmour for a year.

Anyone here snag tickets for the short NA tour by David Gilmour?

I'm in for Hollywood Bowl and MSG, both were tough tickets. Initially I had to settle for singles for MSG but persistence paid off and I scored a pair in the lower levels. Friends scooped up the two extras in a flash.

Since both dates involve travel I'm hoping he adds additional dates at both venues. Actually I'm surprised he hasn't already considering how quick these first shows sold out.

Got tickets to see David Gilmour @ MSG in April. One of the coolest things is when you purchase Gilmour tickets through Ticketmaster you get a free CD of David's new album (not some stupid download code). So I am avoiding listening to any tracks in advance online and waiting until the CD arrives in the mail to give it a listen.

I thought the album doesn't come out until September?

Know what? I don`t like the new single. It`s bland, 70s/80s West Coast rock.

Just been listening to Amused to Death remastered version by Roger Waters, speaking of Floyd.

I like Gilmour solo too.

Tried to get tickets for the second MSG show but failed. There are a few tickets left to his Brighton show in September at the moment.

I don't live in the U.S. So I can't claim the free cd, if anyone is interested I can forward them the email if they would like it. Please feel free to PM me, first come etc

Singles have been popping up here and there on the map. Of course there are many for re-sale at the usual places. Still plenty of time.

A short tour with a pick up band, how good could they really be to merit these prices and the size of the venues? I'll grab a cheapie single the day before just to hear his vibrato once more. These old timers who tour but deprive us of a reunion just stink. Clapton did us right with Cream, that made so many people happy. I saw Pink in their prime years about a dozen times. Really something special, I wish you all could experience a small taste of it.

<<These old timers who tour but deprive us of a reunion just stink.>>

They reunited for the world to see in 2005. They turned down mega millions to tour after this, and Rick Wright died soon after.

Without Rick Wright, it would again be Pink Three, just another variation of the late eighties to mid nineties touring machine, or, more precisely, the "band" that brought us The Final Cut.

I was able to pick up another decent single for the 2nd show this morning.
And now that this 2nd show is also nearly sold out (aside from a few up-close expensive charity seats), wondering if there be any other shows added?

I believe Neil Young's wife Peggy plays on stage now with him also. But in this case I didn;t see any detriment to the music and she seemed quite capable on a variety of instruments at Glastonbury 2009.
