New official archive releases you want to be released
Posted by: eduardoacdc ()

The title says it all. Which concerts would you like to be released as the continuation of the archive series?

I personally think Mocambo 1977 (maybe a compilation of both shows with all songs played) would be the best option as we can only listen to 4 songs in great sound quality and we know by far that some other songs on bootlegs sound really nice and powerful to me.

Other great option would be a definitive official live album of the American 1972 tour (including Rocks off, of course)

Knebworth 1976 could also have a chance, but I find it less likely to be released.

What do you think?

pd: I'm so sorry if there is already a thread like this one. I don't know.

No Security Tour - DVD (It would most likely be from the San Jose show, so I'd like to have as bonus cuts other rarities played on their last great tour.)

It would be great if there was a STRIPPED Deluxe... so that would include more Paradiso perhaps... or the entire show as a second extra along with the rest of the tracks they did for that album.

The tours that have been maxed out, it seems, are:

TATTOO YOU/STILL LIFE tours - three live albums now and a movie!

LICKS - not sure if there's anything else they could release considering the double live album and the DVD set

A BIGGER BANG - with DVD box set and a live album disguised as a movie soundtrack... overkill.

STEEL WHEELS/URBAN JUNGLE - with FLASHPOINT and now the Tokyo album plus AT THE MAX probably no need for any more. Although I'd still like the Atlantic City pay per view to come out on record - fantastic version of Start Me Up from that show.

TOTA - With LOVE YOU LIVE and now LA FRIDAY... maybe something from 1976 with more BLACK AND BLUE songs? That might be good.

SOME GIRLS - They probably can't top LIVE IN TEXAS and there's no reason to I would think.

GET YER YA-YA'S OUT and GIMME SHELTER... I bet they could release every recording from that tour and they would be the biggest sellers amongst all the bootleg/archive releases.

BRUSSELS... excellent live shows of 1969-1973 Stones songs... the only way they could expand on this would be to release something from 1972...

STICKY FINGERS deluxe has live stuff from 1971 and now there's 2015...

So that leaves the VOODOO, BRIDGES and NO SECURITY tours regarding ignoring anything pre-1969. Since none of those live videos from the 94 and 97 tours are in print and the live album is out of print...

Milan 1970, if they've got it - love that one. The long since shelved '72 live album would be great, as would an official release of Philly Special I & II.

1) A Full unedited concert from the 72 Tour. Lots of good ones to pick from. I'd go Houston because it has Dead Flowers! When they first started doing Vault releases in 2012, I thought for sure the '72 tour would be covered. Sadly, it was not.

2) El Macombo 1977 Both Shows. Odd that they have never released these because the demand seems quite high.

3) Wishful thinking here but a complete show from '66 or '67 would be great. Don't think there is too much from the '67 tour available though.

As mentioned above by many, '81 tour seems well covered as well as '89, '75, '78, '02 and too a much lesser extent '69.

Really wish the Ya Ya's set would have had the concert put together in order like Led Zeppelin did with the Song Remains the Same Re-Issue.

Keep 'em coming Stones. I love the Vault Series!

Mocambo is very likely to be released as all tours are being covered by this vault series. The few remaining are No security, 1972 tour, and the 1976/1977.

Apart from that. next year is the Black and Blue 40ยบ aniversary. We may have a re-edition of the album with a concert from that tour and mocambo is the perfect choice. Just as they did with sticky fingers.

I didn't mention this before but we don't have that much from 1998. If I had to pick one from that year, it definetly woud be argentina. Just looking at the setlist (She's a Rainbow, 19th nervous breakdown, You don't have to mean it, I just want to make love to you) it deserves to be listened as a great sounding release.

El Mocambo and something from 1967 would be mighty fine
I could list a lot more but starting with those would be excellent

I like the Knebworth performance, but as an official release it is too sloppy and ragged I think - hope I'll be wrong...

It's just too mind blowing. We need to know what is in their combined archives. What ABKCO has, etc. There might be stuff out there we didn't know existed. Look at the German footage from 1965.

A clean recording of the first O2 show. The one I have has very little bass.
Also a blueray / DVD / CD of Atlantic City '89.
Forest Hills Tennis Stadium 1966 - my 1st show.
MSG or Philly Spectrum 1972.

JuiceinNJ-Not sure if you ever watched the show Mad Men or not but in one of the seasons Don Draper actually goes to this very show (It was right around 4th of July time) to sign the Rolling Stones to buy the rights to a song to use as a TV jingle. They never find the Stones backstage so insted they end up signing the Tradewinds who opened the show instead. Off topic a bit but since you were there Ithought you might enjoy that little tidbit.

I would rather take the 2007 O2 shows, those were better IMO.
