Your ''realistic'' dream setlist for remaining Zip Code shows
Posted by: EasterMan ()
Date: July 6, 2015 14:31

Post your dream setlist for the remaining shows. It should not include more than two songs not previously played on this tour, to keep it slightly realistic.

Here's mine:

Paint It Black
It's Only Rock 'N Roll
Let's Spend The Night Together
Heartbreaker
Out Of Tears
Saint Of Me
Miss You
Sympathy For The Devil
Start Me Up
You Can't Always Get What You Want
- Band Introductions
Before They Make Me Run
Happy
Can't You Hear Me Knocking
I Got The Blues
Sway
Moonlight Mile
Brown Sugar
I Can't Turn You Loose
Jumping Jack Flash

It would be interesting to hear your definition of "realistic" ...

Any songs they've played live this year + two other songs they would have time to learn. smiling smiley

Out of tears is not "realistic" at all, they havenĀ“t played it live since VL 94-95 and they most likely will never play it again. It was made for VL.

so, basically you're asking "what 2 songs do you most want to hear that they haven't they played this year"

out of tears is not on my list ;-)

What's so dreamy about their current setlist? They seem lost to the moment. Indy, an outdoor venue, would have been a great place to do Moonlight Mile. The magic is gone.

I think they are being ironic...

I would add a super-extended SFTD and another Brown Sugar, but at least 12 minutes long with extended crowd interaction

Until they change the whole setlist it will simply be the same show. We used to get a few surprises in the first half, then the b-stage was usually a treat (until they warhorsed it up on ABcool smiley, then the home stretch of radio hits. Now its all set in stone.

So who cares about realistic. They're on tour, playing the same show every night like most other touring bands. We can't expect them to go Grateful Dead / Phish on us and suddenly change things up, but we can hope.

This is why want them to move a good part of the warhorse section to the first part of the show (see my setlist)

If they play these songs before Keith's set:

Miss You
Sympathy For The Devil
Start Me Up
You Can't Always Get What You Want

There will be room for some surprises in the latter half, to make the whole concert exciting.

These day I mostly turn of the Periscope feeds when I hear Chuck's cheesy cowbell.

I just hope to hear Sway. And, as always, Let It Bleed. They've got 3 chances... Don't let me down, boys!

I just wish the show had lived up to earlier expectations to actually feature Sticky Fingers.

For the sake of killing a few minutes:

Start Me Up
Let's Spend The Night Together
Bitch
Tumbling Dice
Dead Flowers
I Got The Blues
Sister Morphine
Can't You Hear Me Knocking
Honky Tonk Women
Happy
Before They Make Me Run
Midnight Rambler
Miss You
Gimme Shelter
Jumping Jack Flash
Sympathy
Brown Sugar
You Can't...
Satisfaction

The second half will never change but a rethinking of the first one with the focus on the album they are trying to sell, again.

Re: Your ''realistic'' dream setlist for remaining Zip Code shows

Being realistic, the only songs possible to be rotated in and out for the last three shows of this tour are song # 3 and songs # 5 through # 8 !!!!

I would go with ..... "When the Whip Comes Down" for slot # 3 ......... "Doom and Gloom" for slot # 5 ....... "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" for slot # 6 ....... "Moonlight Mile" for slot # 7 ....... and maybe "Worried About You" for slot # 8 which is usually the fan vote slot.

I would rather hear "Shine a Light" for the vote song instead of "Worried About You" but, that's probably out the window now that it already won in North Carolina. Maybe "Emotional Rescue" or "Love in Vain" for the vote. + Maybe "Undercover of the Night" or "Love is Strong" for the # 3 slot but, that might be getting too unrealistic for this decade's Stones.

All I want to hear is I Got The Blues in Buffalo... but I am losing the hope I got when they played YGM quickly

Re: Your ''realistic'' dream setlist for remaining Zip Code shows

I would take "I Got the Blues" in Buffalo all day but,I don't think that they think of it as an option for a stadium show.

When I say "they", I mean Jagger.

I'm sure the others wouldn't have any problem with it.

Sorry. I loved that they played it on the whatever tour, 2012 one even though it was a bit rushed and didn't have any swagger. Which means of course that it needed to be played, to get, as Mick likes to say, that patina. They still play @#$%& Miss You.

I'm going to try this, my own personal dream setlist for a Stone's concert I'd like to see:

1.Jumping Jack Flash
2.Hang Fire

Jagger's welcome comments, then introduces Bill Wyman (who performs on these):

3.Time is on your side (Wyman on bass)
4.Satisfaction (Wyman on bass)
5.Under My Thumb (Wyman on bass)
6.Paint it Black (Wyman on bass)
7.19th Nervous Breakdown (Wyman big on bass)
8.In Another Land (Wyman on bass and sings part of the lead w/Jagger!)
Wyman leaves

More of the 60s -

9.Mother's Little Helper
10.Ruby Tuesday
11.Let's Spend The Night Together
12.2000 Light Years From Home
13.Sympathy for the Devil
14.Street Fighting Man
15.Salt of the Earth (abbreviated), straight into
16.You Got the Silver (Richards and Jagger takes turns on vocals), then
17.No Expectations (Ron Wood on slide, images of Brian Jones on screen)

Jagger's comments, introduces Mick Taylor (who performs on these):

18.Honky Tonk Woman
19.Brown Sugar
10.Sway
11.Wild Horses
12.Time Waits For No One
Taylor leaves

1970's/80's/90's etc.,

13.Tumbling Dice
14.Dead Flower's
15.Loving Cup
16.All Down the Line
17.Crazy Mama
18.Memory Motel (Mick and Keith trade vocals, abbreviated version straight into):
19.IORR
20.Miss You
21.When the Whip Comes Down (Afterwards Jagger says: 'time to slow it down a bit...')
22.Waiting on a Friend
23.You Can't Always Get What You Want

Encore (Wyman and Taylor come back out to perform on these):

24.Silver Train
25.Doom and Gloom
26.One More Shot

Of course, I realize this is not realistic at all.
