Remembering Brian today (July 3) - the greatest Rolling Stone.

Please post your favourite Brian song.

Here's mine. A truly historic and unique moment in the history of UK pop music - the only time a blues song ever reached number 1 in the UK.

And that's something about which they should, rightly, be very very proud!

The founding father of the greatest rock an roll band the world has ever seen. Had he not recruited each member as he did there might not be the Rolling Stones as we know them. THANK YOU BRIAN JONES!! See you in Buffalo

As today is my son's birthday, it is always a happy day for me. I like to think that Brian would approve and tell everyone to be happy and enjoy the wonderful music he helped tp create. Brian Jones was truly a gift to the world.

Some people aren't meant to grow old and Brian was one of those kind of people. TY to Brian Jones and Stu for bringing it all back home.

This clip always gets to me.

I always thought Keith dropped his guard here and spoke about Brian's death from his heart. With all the turmoil, conflict and confusing surrounding Brian's exit from the Rolling Stones and his death, it easy to forget these were young men who lost a former band mate and friend who shared the journey from a dingy flat in Edith Grove to fame, fortune, and ultimately a painful falling out, a few short weeks before Brian's death.

Brian Jones, to me, is that strange, dark mixture of ethereality and a small drop of genius. What he conveyed in his playing is what yearn to hear, but seldom do. His recorder playing on Ruby Tuesday speaks to our soul, wordless and weary. He sounds straight out of ane Elizabethan scene. Would we have even had the Elizabethan Stones, Lady Jane, Ruby Tuesday, without his peculiar abilities?

A rare, rare talent, who unfortunately, couldn't handle the gifts given him. A person meant to only flash through our world. What he couldn't seem to say, he could convey in his music. The foundation upon which the Rolling Stones stand.
