Feck-Feck-Feck!
I worked without interruption until 9pm last night, never made it to ckeck my emails in time, and it turns out that of all days yesterday was the day the tickets for the UK tour went on sale. I've never seen them and this time I really wanted to catch them...By the time I got home at 10pm they had totally sold out for the entire UK tour.
But guess what? There are dozens of glorified touts selling them for three times the price on the net. And I'd hate to know what they're being auctioned for on ebay.... I know that 3 times 25£ is still much less than the face value of a Stones ticket, but out of principle I simply refuse to buy from touts. I think I'd rather give Bono a blowjob. Yuck, no, I think I'd rather jump off a bridge.
Has anyone scored any tickets???
And if your girlfriend/husband/au-pair/escort suddenly has a mysterious accident and can't attend, will you drop me a line???
I'm prepared to travel within Europe to see them....

Go to Europe and see them. I saw them three times. First time was in the Milky Way in Amsterdam in 2001 I think it was. Fabulous. Just great. On whitestripes.net I see that they
play the Heineken music hall now. That's a bigger venue. It sucks actually as a venue when compared to the Paradiso or the Milky Way in Amsterdam. It's not in the center of town. It's modern and ugly. Maybe Brussels is better, there they play the Forest National. Should be a cosier place, I think. Anyway for Holland you can check www.mojo.nl and ticketservice.nl for ticket info. It appears that these tickets are not yet onsale.
Hope this helps. But be glad, you're at least going to see them. They don't play japan where I am.

If all else fails and you can't get tix to see them then email me at rmccombsii@cfl.rr.com and I'll send you a DVD of their brilliant performance at this years Glastonbury festivail in the U.K. I hope you manage to obtain tickets though..nothing beats seeing them in person!))

What are principles in life for but to be broken? After an excellent doobie last night my evil twin sister bid and got two tickets on ebay (roughly 80% above face value) . Sure hope she didn't go down on Bono as well, though, I'd lose all the respect I still have for her if she had....
Aaaanyway, I'll see them in Manchester on November 17th, so that's something to look forward to...
I read recently that they performed in some city in Brazil, suddenly stopped the song, left the instruments, and walked down the aisle of the concert hall and out the door, all the audience in tow, until they resumed the song from some house's balcony...Sense of humour or what???? And Meg was lucky Potted Shrimp wasn't there, or she would have been abducted, married and forced to live in Holland ,breeding little cute Shrimpies till the end of her days....

I only know a few songs of theirs...what is it that makes them a good live act?

I'm seeing them in September, somewhere in Massachusetts - they do have a live in the UK dvd (recorded last year), if you care to check it out - I thought the dvd was a letdown after the albums, tho. Too self-conscious.
