few days ago i posted in another thread: maybe they'll do a different opener for every show, would be a big surprise for the real fans and very exciting to wait what they'll do first. i think there cannot be so much problems with changing the lights and so on; imo every song has it's own program on the comp and can be changed in a short time.

What difference does the 1st song make? Its The STONES, and I really dont care! As long as they are on, it doesnt matter!

The First song is very important-----everywhere. you know--just 10 & are "STONES-FANS". The big crowd just wanna hear something special.

stone-relics, i'm with you. if they'll play each warhorse 3 times at every show, i don't care too. i'll be satisfied enough, when the boys (for physical reasons) are touring europe next year.

The opener is very important....it sets the tone for the show. Start Me Up was the ultimate opener......what a way to get the 89 tour going. Not Fade Away was questionable....the show really started with Tumbling Dice in the #2 slot.

My brain truster bets "Silver Train".

What about Star Star.
Great opening Riff, and a song they must definately play live more often.
Also great for first-timers.

A back to basics opener would be MR, with the harmonica intro, then the slow pace guitars, and then a big explosion and the band playing like hell...
