New 'Keith' interview, he is always a pleasure, current news/ London:

"How’s the new Stones album doing?

Yeah, that’s in the can, although it might be a surprise to people and I can’t say any more than that right now.

We did sessions in London in December which suddenly gave us a whole load of stuff. In fact, the Stones have never cut so many tracks in such a short time. Now that’s not necessarily a guarantee of a good record but there is something in the works and I’d just like to leave it up there in mystery land."

Yes! smileys with beer

Nice interview, thanks for sharing!

He alludes to 'more gigs later in the year' smiling smiley. Good for Keith as it's almost always Ronnie we rely on to let the cat out of the bag for future touring plans.

Maybe this has already come up but I'm surprised if someone has not already fantasized that the boys might actually do a surprise gig in London to help promote the show. After all, they are in mid-tour form and it shouldn't be that hard.

Pure speculation on my part. No inside knowledge whatsoever. Maybe there is some logistical issue or prior commitment with one of them that would prevent it

Keith in the Sun ;

There was a plan to do like four or five numbers on the lawn (at the gallery) but then the Chelsea Residents’ Association poo-pooed that . . . how generous of them. It would only have been four or five songs.

It's probably not so much the loud music but the anticipated huge crowd that is worrying the neighborhood . . . maybe both. Still, they could easily pull off a surprise club gig, but a public free show could be a challenge. How about rolling through Piccadilly on a flat bed truck playing Brown Sugar?

Shame that the Chelsea residents poo pooed it, full of snobs anyway.

Wyman and Taylor will be at the opening of Exhibitionism, never know could have been an opportunity for them to jam.

Nevertheless, I'm hopeful for a club show...

I might head in for this after work on Monday. Not sure what there will be to see but we'll see all the band together and no doubt a few IORRians will be in the gathered crowd.

All the headliners for the Weekend nights have been confirmed for zhyde Park so that's not happening. Knebworth's a better bet if they're doing anything at all Imho.

The exhibition starts in a few days, and this error is still in the map on the web site...

Wetherby Arms, 500 Kings Road, London SW10 0LE

23 Pilgrims Way, Wembley, HA9 9HZ

After Dick Taylor quit, The Rolling Stones held auditions for his replacement on bass at their local Chelsea boozer, near the World’s End. On 7 December ’62, their occasional drummer, Tony Chapman, brought along his friend William Perks, aka Bill Wyman, who landed the job largely thanks to his ownership of two quality amplifiers. Seven years older than Mick and Keith, he already had a wife and daughter back in Penge, Kent. Soon after, Charlie Watts, still living at his parental home in Wembley, was poached from Blues Incorporated.

(Yes, I've tried to contact the folk running it, I've even told Sherry Daly, but it's still there). It's not the only error on the map.

With ongoing errors like that, what hope for a quality event.

Sad really.

Hi Sean, Wish I was in London as I would be there Monday evening to see what's going on down there.
Would have been great to see you, Tony and Melvyn again after all these years.

Have a great time Monday and Tuesday and I'm sure we will meet up again at a Stones gig somewhere. smileys with beer

I'm over there quite a lot now Sean , now that I'm retired from that four letter word called work. winking smiley

When I went to Brasil, I got the train from Almeria to Madrid and direct flight to Rio. A few days after Porto Alegre gig, I got direct flight Rio to Heathrow and spent about 10 days back in Blighty.

Love it here in Spain but gotta put some effort into learning the language, as mix with English people most of the time.

In South America met so many Stones fans who can speak English as well as Spanish or Portuguese or both.

Keith: "I’m dying to see the reproduction of our first flat together in Edith Grove because the only thing that gave real character to it was the pong."

Gotta love 'em.

I wish I could go! Have fun everyone, at the opener and beyond in London!!!

Where is the music in this thing, the blues, rhythm'n'blues, rock'n'roll? I can't see any music in exhibitionism, maybe I'm too old now so my ears won't learn to see such wonders. I still hope the Stones will survice through their music, not just as an artefact in the museum. Oh well, it's not easy to sell a thing that most people can't feel nowadays. It's still better to have eyes of glass than ears of stone.

Well, if you read most of the Stones biographies the focus is not so much on the music as more the lifestyle.....the marriages...scandals.....money...drugs...affairs etc.

I guess most Stones fans aint too stressed about that. Its only rock 'n roll.
