Loved it, watched it a MILLION times. Paid $39 for it, the day it came out.

I have a VCR with DVD in my bedroom. I watch MSG 03 (HBO) every morning when I take a shower.

Would love to have a complete VCR tape of Rewind.

Parachute women land on me tonight.

Thanks.

Tim

I converted my copy to digital, first time trying this. I hope it is okay to do. Anyway, here is the link:

Odd, as I can see the YouTube upload in Australia.

This is exactly the sort of thing that The Rolling Stones should (re-)release onto DVD.

It's VERY good.

(I recall an insider telling me that some of the band had to be persuaded hard to release it in the first place - it was early days of personal VCRs - and then for a while it was one of the highest selling tapes in the UK.)

I can see the upload here, but I'll have to watch it on YouTube for it to show.

It was officially released on Video Laserdisc at the time.
This is the edition to get for the best quality.

Interesting. I was not a laserdisc guy. My VHS was always poor quality, from day 1, the sound was a bit murky and the video was not crisp. I don't think time helped either but as I recall it, my VHS rip is about the quality it was from day 1, possibly slightly worse. Maybe someday I'll go the laserdisc route!

I had this and loved it. Wish they would re-release it.

I still have mine up in a cupboard somewhere. I have a VHS player too, but I'd have to go to the trouble of hooking it up. Just like my old cassette deck.

Blocked on copyright grounds. What is the point of this dog-in-the-manger attitude: we own this, and although it's out of print and we are never going to release it again, we will make damn sure that nobody who didn't buy it the first time ever sees it...

Don't all these blocks usually mean they have plans to release it some form?

Re: anyone remember video rewind
Date: January 6, 2016 10:34

It's not blocked here, but I have to watch it on YouTube - it's not possible to watch it embedded in here.

Bought the VHS version back in 1990. It's great fun watching it, although some videos are cut. But the story around all videos is quite amazing.

Considering that the Beatles just released their "1" set maybe we can hope the Stones will copy them once again LOL

I still have it...

It's a Mick and Bill Wyman (surprising) production.

Bill was very involved...I don't know why.

Mick was thin as a rail and had a horrible haircut...very much
like the Steel Wheels tour.

We sometimes forget that Mick and Bill have often socialized on their own behind the scenes. I think Mick said recently that he still has dinner with him when he's in London. Maybe during that trying time in Mick & Keith's relationship, Bill & Mick were still getting on. You know Charlie wouldn't care to be involved in something silly like that. Bill probably jumped at the chance.

Bill was involved for two good reasons.

First of all he actually has an interest in what the band have done. Even back then. And still.

Secondly he could see that it was a dead easy way to make a lot of money for the band - and he was right.

Yes, but it was a compilation album as well.

The album was released in July and the video in November. REWIND was also the first Rolling Stones Records CD release.

Weird how they'll reissue their entire catalog 18 times over but won't reissue either the album or video of REWIND...

IIRC, The EMI Rewind LP was different from the US version by two songs. Respectable and She's So Cold were switched for Emotional Rescue. Then IORR and Heartbreaker were added to the cd release.

Why reissue when you can just put out another greatest hits with 1 or 2 different songs?
