Test:
I posted 2 links here.
one with https, shows a link to youTube
the other one, with http, that used to embed, is invisible.
any more suggestions?

I had to write my password again to be able to log in. And the iorr https adress was crossed out. So something is going on...

I see Firefox blocks 'unsafe' elements on the top left, before the URL.
if you allow it to display, by right clicking the shield icon - the embedded links then work.

oh, yes. that was problem for me too.
I could not log in, even with right username and password.
only after I clicked on one of my older posts, it worked.
I did clear and flush the cache beforehand.

Thanks, I see the shield now, but I wonder why firefox is mad at these embedded clips now. It used to like them, show them and play them.
I feel uneasy about telling firefox to disable protection now. What if I take off the protection and my computer gets an ITD? But I would rather play videos emnbedded to avoid all the dumb ads that appear on the youtube web page.
ITD- internet transmitted disease.

IORR.org was moved to larger more high capacity server solutions tonight. It should be up and running as normal now, with a higher capacity. If you got some funny-looking screen images tonight that is ok, no worries. Thanks to my son who did the hard work while I watched the NHL game #6 and also worked on other IORR updates...

Chrome : You must write the entire server address:

Don't worry too much, because we have been doing this to embed videos before already.leaving the 's' off a http link.
even Wikipedia has switched to https urls. it is to make connections more safe, I guess.
If you don't want to see ads try an adblocker like Ablock Plus. works great.

Re embedded videos: is the present situation (all embedded videos back to the beginning of time now invisible on some browsers) intended to be permanent?
If you know what the video was, it's fairly easy to make the link appear, but most older threads didn't add a title since it showed in the video itself. So big swathes of video postings are now useless because we can't even tell what the video was any more.
