A favorite of mine, that shows maturity at that age, despite the "girl" saying he lacks maturity. One of the many Stones songs where they get it and sing about things many, if not all, of us go through. This whole album was amazing like that with great, early Jagger / Richard writing.

It was probably meant to be a pop tune, but instead it's ... the Rolling Stones

Always loved this track with its quirky rhythm and melody. It's almost like it can't decide between being a folk rock or a r'n'b tune.

Lyrically it's another Jagger girlfriend put down - probably about Chrissie Shrimpton - which adds further fuel to Aftermath being the Stones' most misogynistic album.

Was it just a coincidence that The Beatles had a track out a few months before called Think For Yourself?

Mick (co-) wrote two songs with the title "Think".
I must admit I love them both. I love the Aretha Franklin song with the same title as well.

The song at hand surely sounds like it contains more instruments than the ones listed
in the original post. I feel pretty sure there is a mellotron present.

Oddly enough The Beatles Think For Yourself featured fuzz bass and was recorded a few months earlier.

This track by Marty Robbins, from 1961, beat them both though.

Think on Wandering Spirit is a 5 Royales song penned by their guitarist
Lowman Pauling ....was also covered by James Brown

I like the intro and the verse.
The chours is a huge letdown and the reason why it is not among my favourites.
It simply doesn't fullfill what the start promises.

I always prefered Taj's version. More funky.

Yes, I agree, always some similarities until the Beggar's Banquet album. 'I am waiting' is another, at least in terms of song title similar to Beatles 'Wait.'

'Think' is OK, nothing cool or great imo. Also I hate that line "Tell me who's fault is that, babe?" Just sounds awkward...

There is another Stones version of this song which was included on the aborted "Necrophilia" release.

He lifted the song a bit higher then the original version.........................

One of my fave cutz off Aftermath along with It's Not Easy, Dontcha Bother Me and Flight 505. It was always a groove and will always be along with the others noted. Think how dated MLH and SG sound today. I must admit, though, there is a still a soft spot in my heart for Lady Jane and I Am Waiting. Classic classic songs.

It's very 'Brit-Pop' 1966...and very good Brit-Pop btw...in N.Y.a band were gathering for some real rock n roll that year...spelled Velvet Underground...

Stu said that Keith went through a number of Maestro FZ-1 fuzztones on tour, stamping them hard so it might or might not be THE one. By the time of Think the Maestro Fuzztone had changed from a 3 transistor circuit to a 2 transistor circuit (FZ-1A) so it might have been the latest model.
