If they can't smoke will it affect their playing?

Their playing cool would most certainly be affected.

Doubt they would be stopped in the act, but I can see them getting a fine. Which they probably would just brush off.

Similar restrictions at the O2 in 2012 - didn't seem to cramp their style much. They didn't actually smoke on stage, but those of us with a good side view could see some crafty quick puffs going on behind the drum kit between numbers. Good luck to anybody trying to put a stop to that in the middle of the show! They can always fine them afterwards, as they did at the O2 in 2007 - which I think is where SomeTorontoGal's picture was taken.

The last vestige of the rule-breaking anti-authoritarian Stones will be visible tonight when Ronnie lights a fag after the second song as the Regents of The University of Minnesota call a special meeting to decide how to punish the promoter and band and further prevent such atrocious behavior from contributing to the delinquency of the student body.

It's not a domed stadium, is it? They're at an outdoor stadium, right? Why wouldn't they be allowed to smoke on stage?

Peace,
Mr DJA

The O2 relented - they were let off that threatened £2,500 fine for smoking there in 2007.

Have they ever been banned from smoking onstage in an indoor stadium performance?

Hell they've been banned from smoking by their wives man, that doesn't even stop 'em. $2500 fine? That's about what they make per note at a show like this although I'm sure Mick insists it come from Keith and Ronnie's share. smoking smiley

peace

I don't think I'd pay that much for a used cigarette... I don't care who it belongs to...

Did they smoke on Stage? I followed along on IORR and RS.com but could not get Periscope to work and I am just now going to watch what is on Youtube.

Maybe I will get to see Dallas on periscope. I'm not going to be upset if I cant get Periscope for Dallas be on because I have been following the Stones on YT, IORR and RS.com for years.
