Hey CMC, glad you and your daughter had fun. I shot hundreds of pics last night, I'll go through them and post.

Thank you roller99. We are still euphoric from last night! I think your TCF review is terrific. Your picture of Keith is amazing.

Thanks, and nice meeting you!

And for all the people here who say "the Stones are only in it for the money", a large chunk of money was donated by The Rolling Stones to a local charity that aims to keep music in the classroom. Yes, the Stones have big hearts and realize the importance of keeping music alive.

Can you post a link to that story.

No, because it is not something I read somewhere, so there is no link to it. This came from someone who was with the company responsible for staging the show, that I talked to yesterday.

Grace Potter just didn't do that song justice in my opinion.

Yes Beast . Completely agree with you about the Fergie appearance on Gimme Shelter.
First time I seen it and best performance I have seen. Mick seemed to be well Happy with it all. smileys with beer

grace potter & the nocturnals are a good band, but i don't think gimme shelter was the best song for her, she has tough competition. lisa has owned this song for a long time. lisa did an outstanding job during the BTB/NS tours and my best live in person experience was in omaha in 2006. however, she does sound like semi-controlled screaming the times i have seen her the past couple of tours. grace would have been better doing HTW like sheryl crow back on licks tour or live with me with christina on shine a light.

i did not expect this, but i thought it would be nice if they added a bb king song to the setlist. i also thought they would show some photos of bobby keys during brown sugar.

What a f-ing awesome version! Finally some action, some danger. Mick sings it better here though he starts with the aeorobics vocal. I wish Bono had used an Open E-tuned. The Berry rhythm doesnt suit the song. Mick clearly wants Fergie to do the Clayton downward thing at the end.

This is the guitar overdub-version. The original live TV version had an extremly lame and weak guitarsound by The Edge a real disaster. They overdubbed it for the official release.

To be honest, it's Mick and Fergie singing and performing the song that makes it memorable for me.

I don't think original live version, if it is still around, would affect my thoughts too much about the whole thing.

Ah - thanks for putting the video up, crawdaddy! Yes, it was a truly fantastic performance and Mick was obviously very pleased with it. Fergie really did that song justice.

A friend and I had bought last-minute tickets on StubHub when we heard that Mick was going to put in an appearance. They weren't too expensive - maybe $100 or so - for pretty good seats at the side. Better than Stevie Van Zandt's and a few other celebs who were sitting behind us, anyway! We had a good view of the floor and so spotted a few empty seats at the front - they were the ones that had been sold at $10,000 for charity - and so we figured out a plan, picked our moment and managed to get ourselves through the pretty tight security and into those seats. I'll never forget the thrill of that moment when Mick came prancing on stage. Most people had no idea he was going to turn up and the place went absolutely bonkers.

I still have my confetti from Hyde Park in 2013!
And I like it!!

Good on you, Cloudcat - and Green Lady, mnewman, tumblingdice, JadedFaded and other confetti-keepers -
it's a great little memento to keep along with the memories: lightweight and high spirited,
easy to carry and to store, plus it's included in the price of the ticket.

I still have confetti from Minneapolis 2005. Unless it was St Paul in 2005?
Cool confetti in any case - like paper fireworks.

I love the Rolling Stones

Shocking...
Hard to believe this inspired version with a great solo by Keith was only two years ago:
