Does the band need a groupie? if so, count me in. Im a male though, but what the heck, who cares. Its only rocknroll...

We need everything when we're taking this show on the road, LOL! grinning smiley

I would love to handle the BANQUET and the party favors. I think you have been made this offer before, but the person who made the offer is a pariah on IORR and is not welcome.

I'd like to pick up the tab for ALL the BANQUETs and party supplies.

Well, since you know a thing or two about catering departments and after-parties, you seem to be the right person for the job winking smiley

I'm realistically not going to be able to travel too far for this...but if anyone in the bay area wants to jam out some stones tracks, count me in.

We are recording first.

I've just read through this thread, and it seems that you're picking a complicated set list to start things off. Wouldn't it make more sense to try one simple jam track to be begin with? It would give you the opportunity to learn the ropes for tele-jamming. If we were a group of musicians meeting for the first time, we'd start with one easy tune to test the chemistry and feel each other out.

It might be better to try an extended jam track and give everybody 8, 12 or 14 (if needed) bars to show what they've got. Something like CYHMK or MR might fit, but really I think you need to start with something even more basic. Little Red Rooster is a good warm-up track and a guitar player who can't play a lead for that should either be playing rhythm or be the guy who gets everybody else beer.

Also, you guys need to check out Virtual Zeppelin on youtube. The contributing musicians live all over the world. The musicianship is very good and the audio and video editing are very entertaining.

Here's Over the Hills and Far Away:

I've known about them for years, but I don't know of any serious efforts to do the same thing for the Stones.

It won't be complicated, and we've already started recording smiling smiley

So many different instruments and skilled musicians. This is great fun thumbs up

And making great music is not about just the solos.

It should be fun, it should be a blast!

I guess I don't understand exactly how you're going about it. The first track being laid down is guitar? Shouldn't you have a pathfinder drum track or at least a click track? Without one, it's easy to lay down tracks in the beginning, but the guys down the line will never get everything to sound tight.

Have you mapped out the sequence of the musicians/tracks? How will it be mixed? Is everybody doing a solo track from the same reference, all to be mixed at the end? Or will everybody mix on top of a stereo track mixed by the previous musician?

I'm sorry for all of the questions. I worked in a recording studio back before digital and before computers, and I have engineered and mixed a lot of linear/analog music. I'm very curious about how this will work.

Re: Semi-OT: IORR jam

I played with a click track. Right now, another IORRian is laying down a mandolin track on Sweet Black Angel. One is soloing on Time Waits For No One and another one plays wurlizer on Stop Breakin' Down. We all use the same software.

It's not the ideal way of recording, of course, but it will work fine.

We get to know eachother as musicians during this process, and hopefully many of us will meet up some day for a jam.

A little update, for IORRians who might be interested. Songs worked on so far:

Down In The Hole
We Had It All
Stop Breakin' Down
Time Waits For No One
Sweet Black Angel
Back Street Girl

No quarrels about setlists or anything so far winking smiley

Who's drumming?

Unfortunately, we don't have a drummer for the recording sessions yet, CousinC.

I have asked RawIguanaCologne, but no reply as yet..

I play drums and bass. I can use an e-kit for a virtual jam.

We have a great band of many skilled IORR musicians now. As soon as we get all the equipment up and running this will be great.

There is room for many more to participate in this IORR recording project. If there are any horn players out there, or other musicians, just send me an email.

Here's a little taste - snippets of a couple of embryonic songs.

I honestly, truly would love to be involved. I don't play any kind of instrument, but I have other assets that may be helpful. I have done a lots of things for The Stones experience. How can I help???

This is not a DH joke. I am serious.

Thanks.

Sent you an e-mail a few days ago. I asked you to post my Atlanta review.
Never got a response. I really am just an avid stones fan.

I love the Stones.

I live the Stones.

Thanks.

Found it now. I forgot to give you a reply - sorry for that.

However, I didn't find any review of the Atlanta-show, nor did I understand why I should post it?

BTW, for show reviews, use this email and simply write Show Review in the heading: iorr@arena.no

Bjørnulf will post it on IORR among the reviews if you do.

E-mail me about what you can contribute to the IORR sessions, ok?

I will. But not on show day. I am too excited.

I think my review was Atlanta was awesome and fantastic CYHMK.

I sent YOU an e-mail because you seemed to treat me nicely when I asked about
Stones Music to travel with and you told me about Spotify. Thanks. I was just reaching out to some one who was being nice. The Stones and their fans don't owe me anything. I am proud to be a Rolling Stones fan.

Thanks.

OK. But it is on IORR already, so I wasn't really sure what it was you wanted me to do smiling smiley

Have a great show in M anyway!

I will contact you privately about helping out. Today I am happy to be able to post on IORR and talk Stones on a show day. I will try not to mess it up. I'm just a hardcore Stones fan for a long time.

Thanks.
