I was actually just thinking of suggesting IWBYM the other day! IMO, it would work very well - could we convince HM to play on it, wherever he is now?

Re: Semi-OT: IORR jam

I just sent him an email, Stoneburst. IWBYM would indeed be awesome!

How about a European and a US Project (separately)? I could not travel around the world if I joined in but I could manage to come to a European city to sing back-ups for 'Salt of the earth'.

But then we need a choirmaster and some days of parctice, otherwise it sounds too amateurish. And someonde should do new (interesting) Arrangements because it would not make much sense playing note for note copies.

The project is already trans-atlantic, as we have american IORRians in on the recording sessions smiling smiley

For a meet-up / jam, yeah, it would take some planning, but it isn't impossible to make it happen.

Do we have someone playing blues harp? If not, that would be super-useful, I think.

I'll post the first track, TWFNO in the Facebook group soon. For the musicians not yet on Facebook, register with a phony profile and hook up with me first ( [www.facebook.com] ) and then this group: [www.facebook.com]

Unfortunately, we don't have a drummer for the recording sessions yet, CousinC.

I have asked RawIguanaCologne, but no reply as yet..

Hard for me to trust any recording session without a couple actual Gibsons and Fender guitars, some (preferrably) vintage Fender amps and a Vox AC-30 hanging around. winking smiley grinning smiley

peace

The Fender guitars were used. But they weren't in the pics. The Hiwatt is vintage. One of the last 100 to be made, actually smiling smiley

AND I love my Gretsch winking smiley

Just heard the initial tracks dandie has laid down for this IORR collaboration and all I can say is he did a FANTASTIC job with them. Really sweet!

I think people are in for a real treat here.

I am certainly interested in the project. I am Dutch, but I live in Barcelona, Spain. I play (rhythm-)guitar, I can sing, and can play a fair bit of boogie-woogie and rock piano.

Songs I play often at home (acoustically) and sing (and I think do rather well), are "No Expectations", "Love In Vain", "Sweet Virginia" and I have lately tried to do "Prodigal Son" (open E or open D) but that still needs quite some practicing.
