Periscope and Set lists. Was any one inspired or even happy by any of the performances or music. From what I saw, The band as a whole was on fire. Mick Jagger is always incredible. He was on tonight.

Of course, but in my opinion to make a judgement or statement based on the poor source of sound quality which I had available would not be proper.

But using my remote viewing I had a blast!!! But I can not say for a fact how good or bad they played... I just assume they played fine. I will try to report properly on this when I am actually there in person or see some better clips.

From the Rafters. Those Baseballparks have some shitty seats.

Tiered baseball stadiums are the worst. Not only are all seated seats far from the stage, but When you are under an upper level, the sound gets trapped and all you hear is the bass bouncing around. When buying seats in a tiered stadium, avoid seats under another tier.

If they can raise the bar and charge exorbitant premium prices then raise the bar on your setlist. Play more songs and entertain everyone. Include an intermission if you can't handle it. This setlist is stale.

This comment is much more stale.

Your delusional, the truth is hard to accept. You analyze with your heart and not your head. You're too hooked to realize when you've been bamboozled.

A couple of points.

You may not know this, but for many older acts, it has always been "normal" to work out a setlist prior to going on tour - that setlist was one that the artist felt would work best in a live setting. The artist then stuck with it unless there were problems. Whether you went to see the Beatles at the Star Club in 1960, the Stones in 72, the Who in 75 or Led Zeppelin in 77, or AC/DC in 1983, it was always a setlist that had been carefully designed for the tour. They began swapping out 2-3 songs, but the basic structure of the show remains intact. In the old days it was fine, because people attending shows couldn't spend their free time watching the show from last night (or even last year), reviewing old setlists, etc. For the people attending the show, in 99% of the cases, everything was new except for some photos you might have seen in a magazine. I don't think that the concept of a setlist being "stale" is even in the band's consciousness.

As far as listening to rock and roll with your head rather than your heart, well, that sounds for something for critics.

I agree with your points Doc Bryant however since you mentioned the Beatles it's worth mentioned that just last night McCartney played two songs live for the first time ever (one from a 1980s solo album, another a beatles tune) and had dave grohl as a surprise guest on "i saw her standing there.

Just been going through these 18 pages and gotta say I thought it was a great setlist for a stadium show.

No complaints from me if I had been there.
Gotta say though I would want a half decent seat or preferably standing, less than 100 metres away from the stage. I wouldn't fancy being in a crap seat in the rafters or anywhere too far away and up high though. Would take a lot of the enjoyment out of it ,even with those huge screens.
Hope some youtube clips appear in next day or two

Big thanks to Nikkei for all the pics and running commentary. You did a great job. Well done. smileys with beer

I love Ronnie but that solo just can't even begin to compare to Staples 2013 or Glastonbury, such a shame that MT is not playing on this tour.

That said, pretty good setlist, wish Auckland last year had CYHMK, MM and SFM.

BS by the same guy in case it hasn't already been posted [www.youtube.com] Mick strangely flat in the beginning IEM problems ?

As for CYHMK, no miracle for Ronnie of course, it's a decent ersatz that doesn't even begin to touch the spirit of the original version, I'm more disappointed in Denson with all that talk about his wonderful jazzy stuff at the Fonda...sounds like the Benny Hill end chase at times, where's the groove ?!

Amazing tour start! Live streaming and a great set list.
For a stadium show I can't imagine it much better than this. Rambler and knocking, Moonlight mile and both SFM and Gimme shelter and a 2 hour 15min show.
Ticketmaster and momondo.com will be in my browserhistory VERY soon!

Right, but that's pretty unusual (and pretty cool). Like the Stones, McCartney has a setlist that he believes works and basically stays very close to it for the duration of a tour. From the staging, the lighting, the videos and the between song patter, it will stay the same - and I don't think that in Paul's mind, the setlist is "stale". That's simply the way that he has always done tours - if you look at the Beatles world tour in 1965, I am sure that it is the same 12 songs every single night.

I think that the panorama shot may make it look worse than it is. The sound was probably bad, but if you are sitting there, you probably don't know any better!

I know we all have different opinions and that's ok. But if you think this set list sucks then maybe you are following the wrong band lol. I'm sure people at the show are happy, heck I'm in my room half a continent away and I'm happy.

Yes, seems like you hit the nail on the head...I can understand some people wantion this song instead of that one but to say the setlist sucks is really something else.
