I just (finally) heard Rough Justice...OMG that song ROCKS!!!!

Its a new sound for the Stones yet retains their unmistakable beat, riffs and grooves. And to all the Ronnie slaggers out there, his slide is WAY better than anything Mick Taylor ever did.

Streets of Love will be premiered here in 33 minutes...Can't wait!

Rough Justice is freaking awesome music. The lyrics make me laugh which I dont think they should. But holy shit that music freaking rocks!.

Come on lets not play games we know Streets of Love is no good. Jagger's chorus is pretty good but that song is pretty bad. I would never play that song for my friends. Rough Justice however I will blast in my car, in my house, everywhere. I hope they jam out to that song in concert that shit is awesome.

Rough Justice--the stutter-start beginning makes me think its an early-70s Faces raveup--which means I love it--Ronnie is all over this one, which makes me love it even more.

Streets of Love--pure Mick. I like it, but I can already tell it will be one of the songs I'll skip over on the CD playlist.

Played the three songs to my wife.

Once she finished laughing at the juvenile lyrics, she said that her favourite was Rough Justice, although it sounds a bit like Born to Be Wild (I kind of see what she means - the intro does - sing the first verse of BTBW over it and see what I mean). She said the "cock" lyrics were embarrassing for people of that age.

She said SOL sounds like Tears in Heaven and was horrid.

About ONNYA she said it was OK until they started swearing, because it doesn't suit a 62 year old man. In fact, this was the point where she fell on to the floor laughing.

The above are not my thoughts!

Well, maybe your wife has a good point there...??

okay but I'm not sure how you infer that by listening to the song.

Remember when we got the first taste of Exile? The flexi that was glued up on the front page of the New Musical Express magazine? Those were the days... very different way of getting to know the first songs. Mick singing in-between the songs. Tumbling Dice... Sweet Black Angel... I remember it like it was yesterday. Late April 1972. The day I got NME with the Exile flexi at the local shop here at home. like Christmas day. I had the same feeling today when listenig to the radio, and downloading the mp3's. A special day. But I would not mind having a sampler with the rest of the songs, or the whole new album. Now...

I try, but I can't. I saw them first live the 10th of june 1982 in Munich Olympiastadion, and was just 13 then. So 1972, I can't really remember what was my preferred sound then:-)

I think the biggest story of the release of these songs is how bad "Streets of Love" is. It's so watered down and cliche'. What's the deal?

Before listening to them i was especially worried by what was said in regards to Streets of Love on this board - it's not a bad track. Ok, it's not standard stones, but hasn't that always been the case - they do occasionally follow trends and it depends whether you like that trend. For me SOL will sit right in there on the BBCradio2 playlist (biggest station in the UK), and that's what Virgin want, coverage. I wouldn't be suprised if both tracks came out as a double A-side single.

Also, just to stir it a little - don't you think Rough Justice sounds more like The Black Crowes than the Stones?!!!?!

Yes, the beginning of the song.

I am a 23 (was in the Army for four years) year old college student in the states, near Chicago if anyone cares, but the age factor of the Stones never comes to mind for college students. I can go to any number of college bars and hear a great Stones song any day, in fact every time I go to bar they are played. TO me, and many of our age group, it's not about the gage, but the attitude and the sound. Let the Stones cuss, sing about pussy, bear and drugs all they want, because that is what their foundation is built upon. I say, let Mick have all of the sexual lyrics as he wants. We don't stop fu%^ing at 62 do we? Hey, older people are cool, they like to party and have wisdom; the best of both worlds. Streets of Shit....sux...still....Rough Justice Rocks and will be played in every college bar for a long time...like Start Me Up is around 11:00 every Friday night, because it rocks. In my opinion, it's not how old you are, but how you age.
