This reminds me of the the Fort Worth 1978 DVD, on the interviews section there is that guy yelling at all the Stones fans saying Mick Jagger is not god. Than one fan yells back "yeah but he makes better music."

Yes, they ARE "gods", as they ALL belong in the Olympic Pantheon-equivalent of "rock gods", and I think that's the way it was meant.
(At least I HOPE that's the way it was meant--I'm not religious, myself, but I'll discreetly step aside in case lighting bolts start descending from the heavens LOL.)

Or can't you read between the lines of a lot of stones songs?
