How is everyone getting on? Are you finding the stuff you want or are you seething at seeing everything on eBay already? I have this years Stones stuff as originals so now I am after vinyl singles from Bowie, Small Faces, the Who and Roxy Music.

Good luck to everyone who is on the vinyl hunt

I got Bowie's "Changes" picture vinyl.
The A-side is the regular version, however with the gorgeous 2014 remastering first presented on last year's. "Nothing Has Changed" compilation. Get yourself a copy of that one, by the way, as it's maybe his best compilation release ever!

The B-side is a previously unreleased mix of "Eight Line Poem", which has only appeared on a rare vinyl promo from 1971. Superb sound quality, which suggests that Bowie back catalouge is re-evaluated and up for new re-releases soon.

If new remasters are going to be released with that sound quality as of the latest releases, people are in for a treat.

Those two were released last year.
I picked up a 7" by Alex Harvey with a nice version of Jumping Jack Flash though. There were a few by Marianne Faithfull as well.

Mr Edward is of course 100% correct and I am 100% wrong - those EPs were indeed released last year, apologies for misinformation.

Incidentally if anyone does not posses the Replacements singing Alex Chilton I strongly recommend the RSD 12" EP - the version of Route 66 thereon is also a hoot.

Stones should have put out Bill's Radio Luxembourg acetate.

Didn't pick up any new releases, but I did stock up on vinyl! Got the 2010 vinyl double-disc set of A Bigger Bang, a boot of Pink Floyd performing The Wall live, two Adam Ant 12"-Singles, and the J. Geils Band's 12"-Single 'Fright Night' theme!

It's a 10" EP, at least here in the U.S.

I bought 3 items yesterday.
- Rich Robinson (black crowes) - I Remember/Up From The Skies
- Black Keys / Junior Kimbrough - Meet Me In The Morning
- Alex Harvey - Midnight Moses/Jumping Jack Flash

Since I bought the new Eels live album (3lp deluxe)and a lp by Sven Hammond Soul the day before, I thought I spend enough on music in on weekend.

The vinyl issue of Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes was tempting though!

This day the record companies releases records for publishing's sake. It's almost that I think Spotify is more interesting.

Should it be for real, there must be new songs on new discs.

Key is exclusiveness: most releases have few copies, so of you want one, you have to visit your local independant record store.

Scheduling a new (re-) release on Record Store Day adds to the momentum.
