I heard a rumor that Wilco will open for the Stones in Atlanta on Oct. 15. Has anyone else heard this?

Wow!! I am really jealous. I'm psyched to see the Stones at Fenway, but not really psyched about the Black Eyed Peas (at all). Wilco/Stones would be fantastic!! For those of you attending, Congrats on the best opening act of the tour! That one will be great.

Who the F@#*% is WILCO??? My wife nor I have ever heard of them! Is there a popular song out that they do? I am glad to hear that several of you think they are going to be great. Any links to online music I can check out by them?

Don't believe the hype. I like this kind of music usually and saw the band on many recommendations...they stunk. I even left the show early which i never do...they were poop on a scoop.

They have some very good material and some not so good material...the first lineup was called Uncle Tupelo and did a Ron Wood cover..forget the song though..I'll look it up tonite..unless anyone else knows..

"Mystifies Me" was on Son Volt's debut album (Uncle Tupelo alum Jay Farrar's band), and a fine version at that!

Wilco is one of rare nineties bands that has an artistic value.An excellent warm up act for the Stones.I haven't heard many of their song but from what I heard I can make a conclusion that their leader Jeff Tweedy is a fine songwritter.

Wilco's albums Being There, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and A Ghost Is Born are all modern classics. Their other albums, A.M. and Summerteeth, are also great. Being There (1997) would be a good entry point for Stones fans.

"A Ghost Is Born", is a gem of an album.
Probably, the best of 2004, in my humble opinion.
I saw them live, at the Hammersmith Apollo, London, in March, this year...
and they completely blew me away.
I'm envious of people , who have got tickets to see the Stones/Wilco show.
Make sure you're in your seat, for Wilco! Jeff Tweedy is a talented guy.
Probably, the best of 2004, in my humble opinion.
