Thanks for your story! I am glad that I posted this, I love reading the stories and I'll have some good knowledge before the show. I'm hoping for the best seats I can get, but I really just feel lucky that I am able to go. It would be really amazing to see Taylor and Wyman... I don't know if I will ever be able to. If anything, I figured this would be my last chance to see them so I'm rolling the dice with these tickets.

I had lucky dips for all three Chicago shows two years ago. Two nights I had really bad second from last row, upper deck tickets at the United Center. I had no difficulty self upgrading. Just looked at Ticketmaster website about an hour before the show and made notes about where there were large blocks of expensive unsold seats and snuck into those sections. Third night I had a good draw and had seats in about 15th row of lower bowl near Keith.

Chicago they just checked your ID and order number and handed you and envelope. Also put a wristband on you. You did not have to go into the venue and you were not escorted to your seats like the information says. Think about it, how many staff people would it take to individually escort hundreds of lucky dip ticket holders to their seats. It turned out the wristband (not to be mistaken with the Pit holders wristbands), were just a means to identify you as a Lucky Dip ticket holder. There were AEG reps walking around upgrading certain people. The wristband was basically just a message to them not to give you an upgrade. If you pull crappy tickets and they give you a wristband, take it off and you might get lucky again.

I tried self upgrading at a smaller concert for Crosby, Stills, and Nash once.. didn't go down too well because they were pretty sold out so I was told to go back to my seats hah!

But I am seeing the Stones at Ohio Stadium, so I might have better chances there. You mention AEG reps upgrading certain people, why would they not want to upgrade a lucky dip holder? That is so strange to me. I guess I'm not thinking it through completely right now. One of my friends who is going to the same show as me got tongue pit through lucky dip in philadelphia.

Anyway, I've seen posts about people who got lucky dip seats they didn't like and they mention asking the box office for better seats and have gotten them that way.

I bought my sister and my boyfriend lucky dips for the last Chicago show. I had the VIP Pit, so I had to be in line for that and couldn't be the one to pick up the lucky dip tickets. I went and got a duplicate driver's license to give to my sister and gave her the CC that was used to purchase the tickets. They didn't ask her name, only glanced at the DL, and didn't check the CC. The white wristbands were placed on them, but they were able to walk out and weren't escorted into the building. They had crummy nosebleed seats, but wound up being upgraded to Pit.

That is amazing... hoping for the best. It seems like a lot of attendees get good surprises like that at these shows.

I bought Lucky Dip tickets for me, my brother, niece, and nephew for the second Toronto show in '13. My brother and nephew were up in the 300's while I was in the pit with my 13 year old niece. I was not expecting it at all, it was amazing!

Philly, Friday June 21 2013 - had a pair of "lucky dip" tickets for myself and a friend. They weren't called that back then but it was the same thing. $85 dollars each. When we checked in they grabbed an envelope off the top of a stack, opened it, looked at the tickets inside and told us to move on down to the next table where they were put wrist bands on us. The woman asked "Are you happy?". I said sure. She replied that usually people are jumping up and down. Only then did I realize the wristband was for the pit. Good luck!

I bought Lucky Dip tickets for Boston 2 in 2013. I'm not from Boston - I'm from New York (and I'm not a lass - I'm a divorcee), so I was counting on the company of a friend who said she would split the Dip and make the trip with me. At the last minute something came up and she couldn't go, so I made the 3 hour drive solo. Just outside the Lucky Dip line, I met a handsome guy about my age who had sailed into Cape Cod that week, hoping to pick up tickets to a Stones show. (I'm not making this up winking smiley) He bought my 2nd ticket and dinner and beer for both of us. We got great lower loge seats on Keith's side and had a good time together for a while, but then I lost interest because ... well, Mick and Keith. And when my companion actually sat down (!) during the second half of the show, I knew he wasn't for me. But the whole experience was fantastic. Have fun and make memories!

I got 2 Pittsburgh "General Admission tickets in Section LUCKY" yesterday for a total of $87.15. As I'm flying to the U.S. on my own I therefore have 1 spare for whoever wants it, face value of course. I'll be staying at the Double Tree by Hilton downtown Pittsburgh the night before the show so can arrange to meet there or at the gig. If you want my spare e-mail me on chrisandpam.egan@btinternet.com and I'll give you my phone number for contact when I get to the U.S. Going to busy.....flying back to see The Who in Hyde Park London on the 26th !!

Cheers,

Chriseganstar

Hope you get lucky with LD tix Chris. I was thinking of going to Orlando or Nashville with LD tix, but gonna save my money for South America later in 2015 I hope.

Will meet up with you again at Hyde Park for The Who gig. >grinning smiley<

Will do.....I'll be back in London on the 24th so I'll call you then !

Satisfied since 1976

After 5 shows there will have an established time frame of +/-15 minutes when they will hit the stage. Simply read the reviews of the first 5 shows and you will learn what BOOM TIME!! is... then just get inside a beer line time ahead of that.

got 4 for Milwaukee

THEY WILL ONLY ISSUE YOU 2 WHEN YOU GO TO CLAIM THEM...I SAW IT HAPPEN SEVERAL TIMES IN 2013 - GUARANTEED...(BE CAREFUL 2 PEOPLE WILL BE EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED).

when you say you saw it happen several times, what did you see?

in 2013, I bought two pair on TM and was able to pick up both pairs at the gig.

plexi

You got Lucky Then...because in San Jose, Vegas and Chicago a few people had 2 sets of 2 and were only able to claim 1...maybe it depended on the venue and the Sold Out factor...They were not letting 4 in on 1 order....

Oh no you are wrong as I was able to do this in Vegas. And all four of us went in at the same time, on two orders.

plexi

Well call it wrong or whatever the people in front of me were pulled out of the line and it was explained to them that it was a 2 person limit.

Same thing in San Jose, Chicago and now that I am thinking about it...it also happened in Oakland...It sounds to me like it is hit or miss ????? Wrong or whatever...I am sure you can talk to someone and work your way in....as these shows will not sell out anyway....

huh, kind of strange that at the same show some people were able to get in with more than two and others not, I don't doubt you, maybe it just depended on which particular agent you dealt with, funny

plexi

Yes no doubt...I think it is complete miscommunication between AIG and the Venue.
What does not make any sense is why is it a 2 Ticket Limit...But then you are able to buy another 2... If they are letting people buy 2 sets of 2, why not just let the get 4 in one shot ????

Why would an insurance company get involed in this?

Mid June are the longest days of the year. I would expect them to wait until total darkness before taking the stage to see the video cameras and special effects. So, that would be closer to 9. That is why I expect an opening act.
