I was lucky I got to meet a lot of people via my job. Some actually hung out with. Have had a few chance encounters too in unusual places. Have pictures with some.

the list goes on...I never bothered these people. Some were in meet/greet situations, some not. Never hounded for autographs. Keith & Bobby were very nice to me & actually had conversation with Bobby. One good story is on my 1st trip to NYC I went to the movies (Colors with Sean Penn) & just before the film started a bunch of guys sat in row ahead of me. The guy directly in front of me looked kind of familiar but was trying to be incognito. Turns out it was Neil Young! I was freaking out but did not bother him. I did talk to him after the movie was over for a bit & he seemed to be amused & was very nice. Think he appreciated that I didn't bother him until it was time to go. Years later, I ran into him at a meet & greet for a charity show. He actually remembered me! It pays to have good manners sometimes.

Lux Interior fell on top of me during a Cramps show with just his leather pants on and passed out (1985) does that count for points?

Like day, hour, were they sweating, were their hands cold?

I've met hundreds of musicians and actors/entertainers over the years. My main thing is the try to get albums autographed and have some type of conversation with a performer. I have thousands of autographs in my collection, almost all of which I obtained in person. If the situation is right, I will try for a photo and have photos with Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood, among others. I have shaken hands with some, the biggest of which is Paul McCartney.

I hung out with Jeff Beck, Imelda May, and Michael Narada Walden after a Jeff Beck gig once. Very nice people. Shook hands with them all. I actually said, "Jeff, it's an honor", like an idiot, when I shook his hand the second time as he was leaving. He was cool, said "Thanks".

Due to a job I've met many famous people, but I never aks for autographs, photos or shake those peoples hands just to shake them, I'm not starstruck...

Having said that, there is one memory, one moment that was special.

In 1988 (?), Dizzy Gillespie played in a town nearby. A friend and me were both huge fans of Bebop and so we went to the concert. We were seventeen/ eighteen years old.

We secured a spot close to the stage. The band started, and Mr. Gillespie was the last one to enter the stage, but he couldn't manage to get up the stairs, as they were very steep and there was no handrail. As we noticed this, we approached and offered our help. We led him up on the stage.

During the concert, he often made eye contact with us, introduced us from the stage (we didn't understand a word, unfortunately) and after the concert we were led behind the stage (not exactly a de-luxe backstage area, I can tell you) for some food and drinks with the band, until it was time for the band to leave.

Dressed as a trumpeteer, I was a supernumerary in Nureyev's Paris Opera Ballet production of Swan Lake at the Kennedy Center in 1987. Rudy danced within arm's reach. It was a thrilling experience.
