Enjoy the show. Everyone on here has a different perspective on the band, were drawn by different things, and have stayed attached for different reasons....which makes this board cool.

What he said! thumbs up

I am so excited to see the Stones for the 6th time, and now at home! Unfortunately a bit too excited at the pre-sale, along with my uncoordinated family lol. I have 2 floor seats- center Section J, row 7 that I need to sell. Face value for $420 each. Please message me if interested, thanks!

Staying at the Residence Inn Buffalo Galleria Mall. Does anyone know if this is close to the stadium or if I can get public transport to & from the show. If I need to drive to the show is there a place where we can park. I think someone mentioned a lot. Thanks

Your about 20 miles away. Take the I90 West to the 219. the entrance is right by the mall. That will take you to the stadium. There should be plenty of parking around the stadium. There is Erie Community College across from the stadium. You can park there.

Choir for the Buffalo show

An excerpt from the news story in the link above by Channel 4 news anchor Jordan Williams:

"The band won’t allow Benestelli or the choir to reveal what they’re singing during the show. For now, the music is top secret."

Television news employees have got to be the most out of touch people on earth. This is the biggest worst kept secret of the 21st century. I'm embarrassed to even post this.

That is so funny and sickening at the same time. Its amazing how bad all local news has become over the past 10-15 years.

Residence Inn is about 12 miles from Ralph Wilson Stadium, 15 minutes on a normal day...but the day of the show will not be normal.

There is no public transport to the stadium. The stadium is in Orchard Park 14127, a southern suburb. Buffalo is a small city, everything is a quick drive. There is little in the way of public transport once you leave the city limits.

There is a huge tradition of driving to the stadium and tailgating before football games, and though there are very few concerts at that venue anymore, tailgating before concerts was big in the era of stadium shows.

Parking will run around $25 in official stadium lots. However it is an area almost bordering on rural, so there are a lot of 'satellite' lots run by private owners. All are trustworthy (yes really) and often cheaper, are can be easier to get in and out of.

I would recommend the Hammer lot on Abbott Road across from the stadium. Hammer is on the board and I am sure his lot will be open early for those that want to get out there early and enjoy communing with other fans. I, for one, plan on being out very early, playing music, enjoying a few cold beverages and even cooking dinner on a grill in the Hammer lot.

Look for more on this thread. Lots of info there. Much more to come as the show gets closer and plans solidify.

For those without tix..or ended up far from the stage but want an upgrade...

On Ticketmaster today parts of two sections that contained only $403 seats changed to $170 seats.

The last week or so, all that were available in the $170 range were obstructed view at the opposite end of the stadium from the stage, obstructed by two towers. Those seats are mostly still available, but if you use the map tool, you can go to section 112 or it's mirror on the other side of the stadium and in the top 15 rows of those sections, find $170 seats, that have been $403 since day one.

Basically, all the 'cheap' seats (used very loosely) sold fast, the $403 ones have lingered a bit on the sides, and back of the floor. This should move some. Maybe 200 or so it looked like earlier. I would avoid getting too close to the stage, as I have seen posts on other threads of obstructed views, not being able to see Charlie or anyone unless they were in the front part of the stage.

But if you need tix....there are some very nice ones out there, and not with scalpers.

Buffalo Hotels?

Hello all-

We did the PGH show, had a blast, thinking of rolling up to Buffalo from D.C.? Does anyone have any input about the availability of hotel rooms up there? Thanks!

The hotels are jammed and it's $300 for a place I wouldn't let a wild animal sleep... Tempted to rent a whole house if anyone else is in...

Yes, anything on a summer weekend near Niagra Falls is going to be off the charts then throw this show on top of it. Im looking an hour east of Buffalo

I live in Orchard Park 14127, where the show is. Hotels are very booked in the area.

BV has a thread on the site for each stop on the tour. Check out the Buffalo thread for more updates.

With every decent hotel in Buffalo booked, and what is left doing some serious price gouging for pretty rundown rooms, and if you have a car and don't mind a bit of a drive (though everyone will spend some time in their car, even those closer to the venue with pre- and post-show traffic)..you might try searching:

Ellicottville, NY - hill ski village about 45 minutes south of the stadium on Rt 219. Some Bed and Breakfast Inns, and a casino nearby in Salamanca

Fredonia, NY - again about 45 minute drive away, southwest of Buffalo. Not a lot there, other than some wineries and vineyards, but there is a nice place called The White Inn.

The positives about either town is that after the show 98% of the traffic going away from the stadium will be going north into Buffalo or east to Rochester and these towns are in the opposite direction.

If you want to see some site and do some touristy things, and have a PASSPORT (if you are coming from the US) try Niagara Falls Ontario for your search. It is an hour away (though you have a border crossing that could add significantly to that at time). Casinos, the Falls......both natural beauty and tacky tourism in one city.

Niagara Falls NY has some hotels but is not a great place to stay overnight. High crime, run down, rough.

Good luck.

Coming in to the Holiday Inn Express in Cheektowaga from NYC early afternoon of the 11th via train. Looking forward to drinking some beers and getting ready for the concert. Is the best move to head to the stadium's surrounding areas for bars/restaurants, and due to the lack of public transportation? Hoping to grab a taxi from the train station to hotel and then to the stadium.

I have to try and go. Is there a round trip bus from Port Authority, I need to go directly to the stadium... Anyone know about this? Are there tickets still around? My gig got cancelled, I can make this work.

If you don't mind the 1/2 hour drive and crossing the border, there are plenty of hotel rooms available in Niagara Falls, Canada.

Check back to this thread as the show gets closer. There are a few small bars around the stadium. It is in a very open, near rural area...not a lot there. Generally, for football games, people get there early, park and tailgate with other fans. There are some people working on organizing a tailgate in a lot before the show with people from this site.

They are predicting thunderstorms for July 11th. Obviously it doesn't mean there actually will be when it's this early on, but my question is: how bad does the weather have to be for them to cancel?

Just remember what was on the radio (when radio mattered) the whole summer of 1978 vs. what was played in 1981.... That will give you an idea of what was better.

Hi everyone.
I am arriving on the 10th and leaving on the 12th.
Can someone local please tell me the following:
Is the airport open 24hours? Our flight leaves at 7:20 Sunday morning.
Also, are the rental car returns open 24 hours? or do they have a 24 hour drop off?
Are there any markets near the airport where we can stock up on food and of course alcohol?
Are there specialty stores for alcohol or the same market?
last is there anything within walking distance of the airport?
